The World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP), hosted by PokerStars, has begun with the first event, the $200+$15 no-limit Texas Hold’em 6 max tournament already finished.
Last years biggest event in WCOOP was the $500+$30 no-limit hold’em event with 4,495 entrants, this year that record has already fallen as event 1 saw 4,610 entrants and the $400,000 guarantee prize pool shattered with the total ending at $922,000 for the event. The play in the beginning fast and furious, in the first two hours, half the field was already gone.
Then the poker play got better and 14 hours later, the final table was set. The final table included bearbeer123, LUFCbas, samh133, TiltHappens, toomanydonks and WiLDman75.
Toomanydonks was the first player eliminated from the final table, short-stacked, he was in the big blind and when it was folded around to the SB, samh133 put him all in with AsJs.
Toomanydonks call with Ah3c and when the board flopped all spades, toomanydonks was eliminated in 6th, receiving $10,142 for his efforts. When it got down the final three a chop was agreed upon for the remaining prize pool.
Now all that needed to decided was who was going to wear the WCOOP gold bracelet. Heads up play came down to samh133 and WiLDman75.
The final hand saw WiLDman75 get all his chips in on the turn with top pair on a Q high rag board only to be called by samh133’s flopped set. WiLDman75 did not improve and sanh133 became the WCOOP Event #1 bracelet winner.
