The World Poker Tour has announced a new tournament event set to take place in Las Vegas this May. The WPT Bellagio Elite Poker Championship will begin on May 1st and run through the 6th, with a buy-in of $10,000. A $25,000 WPT High Roller event will run at the same time, starting on May 4th and ending on the 6th.
The High Roller tournament will have an interesting twist as it will start at the Bellagio and end at a new location, instead of finishing out at the Bellagio. The final day of the event will be postponed until the 27th of May when players will head to the Esports Arena Las Vegas located at the Luxor Hotel & Casino to play down to the winner.
Both the High Roller and the Elite Poker Championship events will be broadcast during the upcoming season of the World Poker Tour on Fox Sports 1. The new season begins airing on April 29th. With the addition of the new events, the Season XVI schedule now includes 19 total tournaments.
The month of May is full of World Poker Tour events. The Bellagio will be hosting the two above mentioned additions to the WPT schedule while the ARIA will be hosting the WPT Bobby Baldwin Classic and the WPT Tournament of Champions in May as well.
In the meantime, the World Poker Tour is busy with events currently in progress or those set to begin later on this month. Today, the WPT Rolling Thunder begins at the Thunder Valley Casino Resort of California while the WPTDeepStacks Brussels will kick off on the 5th at the Grand Casino Brussels Viage in Belgium.
Stops will continue throughout March with the WPT heading to Jacksonville, Johannesburg, Argentina and Maryland. Players will find the full schedule of upcoming World Poker Tour action at the WPT website.
