So close as Day 5 of the WPT 5 Diamond Doyle Brunson World Poker Classic begins where it left, with 18 players and the final table within reach. Now each position becomes a little more valuable as the final payouts for the event are:
16th-18th: $77,085
11th-15th: $96,355
10th: $115,630
9th: $134,900
8th: $154,170
7th: $173,445

As the last Brunson standing, Todd made and outstanding run at the tournament named after his father but it would end today at 15th place and a pay day of $96,355. The shock of the day came next as chip leader entering the day, Daniel Negreanu was eliminated early in Day 5 in 14th spot.
Not to be discouraged, in his blog, Daniel said,
“I just played arguably the best tournament I’ve ever played outside of the Championship Poker at the Plaza event in 2004. I’ve brought my game to a whole new level the past few months and I’m excited about playing more events in 08′.â€Â
The bubble for the final table came down to Erick Lindgren all in at one table and Bill Kontaratos all in at another. Lindgren survived and unfortunately Kontaratos did not and went home in 11th place with $96,355 in prize money.
The final table is now set and it is (in order of seats) Ken Rosen, Ted Kearly, Erick Lindgren, Raymond Davis, Jimmy Tran, Jordan Rich, Eugene Katchalov, Ryan Daut, David Ulliott and Matthew Casterella. The tournament will continue though till only 6 remain.
It took close to 3 hours but finally they are down to the final 6 players – Ryan Daut, Kenneth Rosen, Jordan Rich, Ted Kearly, Eugene Katchalov and David “Devilfish” Ulliott will battle it out for the title and over $2 million in prize money.
