WPT Five Diamond Poker Classic Main Event Win Goes to Ryan Tosoc

Over the weekend, the World Poker Tour Five Diamond Poker Classic Main Event finished up with Ryan Tosoc being named the victor. The win was especially sweet for Tosoc as he had finished in the runner-up position one year ago. For the win, the poker pro earned almost $2 million after defeating Alex Foxen in heads-up play.

The WPT Five Diamond Poker Classic took place from December 5th to the 10th. Players paid a buy-in of $10,000 plus $400 with 812 players taking part. The total prize pool on offer was $7,876,400. Once the field had been narrowed down to the final two, it was Tosoc and Foxen going head to head.

On the final hand, Tosoc had the lead and both players were all in, with Tosoc holding Q-10 against Foxen’s A-10. The board fell K-9-3 with a Jack on the turn giving Tosoc a straight for the win. By finishing first in this event and runner-up in the same event last year, Tosoc has earned over $3 million by competing in the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic.

For the win, Tosoc earned a major cash prize as well as a $15,000 seat to the World Poker Tour Tournament of Champions. Also included was a JetSmarter membership with a value of $5,000 along with a Hublot Big Bang Steel watch. When asked about the win, Tosoc stated that it feels unreal and he feels as if he is a dream right now.
