WPT World Championship Returning to Wynn

The World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship is set to return in 2024, and the official dates of this series have now been announced. This will be the third annual edition of this massive series, and it will return to Wynn Las Vegas from December 3-20.

Unfortunately the full series of events has not yet been announced, but those will likely leak out in the coming months. One thing that is certain is that there will be some great opportunities for live poker players to win some money.

Poker players have been waiting around for this announcement to be made as this is something that players will clear their schedule for. Not only will this series be a standalone event, but it will also wrap up the World Poker Tour Season XXII.

The previous two years have featured a pair of main events, and that is expected to be the case again this year. Those two major events include the WPT Prime Championship and the WPT World Championship.

Last Year Was a Success

The 2023 WPT World Championship was a historic event as over $100 million was paid out during the month of December. There were close to 34,000 players that visited the Wynn Las Vegas a year ago for this event, and that same number will be making the trip this year.

Dan Sepiol was the biggest winner a year ago at the WPT World Championship as he took home $5.3 million by winning the main event. The WPT Prime Championship had a field of more than 10,000 players, and there was a prize pool of more than $10 million.

This event is also known for catering to the female poker players as there are events that are only available to women. If that is the case again this year then the best female poker players in the world are going to be traveling to Wynn Las Vegas.

Great Action Coming in Second Half

While players on the World Poker Tour were clearly excited about this announcement, there is still a ton of work to do before the month of December. The first half of the year wrapped up with the WPT Rolling Thunder Championship, but the action in the second half immediately began with a stop in Korea.

There are always some unique events that take place on the WPT, and there will be another WPT Voyage on the schedule as well. That’s an actual cruise that is put together for some of the top poker players, and there are many different tournaments played.

After getting back to the United States from the cruise, there will be two big events that are set to take place in Florida. Beginning in June, the World Poker Tour is going to make stops in different countries around the world until the month of November.

The final event of the first half of the season will take place at the Hard Rock seminole in Florida.
