The Chicago area will be welcoming the World Series of Poker Academy for the first time every this August and several poker pros will be on hand to teach attendees about the game of poker. The event is set to take place on the 29th and 30th at the Horseshoe Casino.
The Academy will feature Annie Duke, Matt Graham, Bernard Lee the ESPN poker radio host and Joe Navarro. All four will be lending their expertise to instruct the poker players attending no matter their playing level.
Seminars will take place with question and answer periods as well as live hand demonstrations, video analysis of WSOP tournament footage and private multi-table tournaments. For those that can attend, it is a great way to learn about the game of poker first hand from professionals.
Not only will attendees be able to learn from the pros but they will also be able to play poker with them as well. The private tournament will see the players competing and the winner of the tournament will be able to compete at the 2010 WSOP Academy Tournament of Champions for a chance to win a $10,000 WSOP Main Event seat for 2010.
Brandon Rosen is from Post Oak Productions, the company that produces the WSOP Academy and he commented on the Chicago event. Rosen stated: “The WSOP Academy just finished an amazing summer at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas and we’re now excited to offer our first academy experience in the Chicago area with an amazing line-up of instructors.â€Â
