Michigan is ready to join a shared liquidity compact and its players are excited about this opportunity. World Series of Poker (WSOP) Michigan (MI) has outperformed WSOP Pennsylvania (PA) and BetMGM MI thus being the second-biggest online poker room in the Wolverine State.
Recent cash game traffic information reveals that the poker room will continue growing in the future. GameIntel monitors concurrent cash game bettors in all leading online poker platforms.it revealed that a WSOP MI’s one-week moving average reached 80 on April 19, 2022.
This gives it an edge over BetMGM MI, which has been the second largest poker room in the state for a long period. Poker Industry PRO avails GameIntel’s figures to its subscribers on a distinct PRO Data platform that averaged on April 19.
The latest statistics will excite Michigan poker players, WSOP MI and 888, its partner who have three irresistible offers. Also, it puts WSOP in a good position as Michigan’s first-ever Online Circuit Series continues.
WSOP MI Has Steadily Grown in the Past Two Weeks
WSOP Michigan started operating on March 30 and signed about 60 concurrent bettors on that day. Even so, the poker platform recorded its lowest signings on April 5 when 53 players joined it and this has been consistent.
The poker platform’s traffic is derived from a one-week moving average to flatten its weekdays and weekdays troughs, natural peaks and it has increased to more than 50 percent in the past two weeks. pokerfuse reported last week that WSOP Michigan had acquired more than 20 percent of the state’s online poker market.
Recent figures state that the poker platform has a 25 percent local market share. Besides, its single-day figures show that its cash game traffic is likely to continue increasing throughout the next week.
Many gaming analysts were shocked after WSOP MI outshined WSOP PA which operates in a larger state. Pennsylvania has a population of 12.8 million while Michigan has 10 million people. Today, WSOP MI leads WSOP PA by 11 percent.
Still, this isn’t fully unexpected as PokerStars MI outperformed PokerStars PA in the first four months after poker’s demand increased drastically. WSOP MI is currently at highs that WSOP PA never enjoyed. The latter’s cash game seats were only 30 and it maintained them for a long period.
Michigan’s Decision to Join Multi-State Poker Strengthens WSOP’s Position
WSOP was the first gaming operator in the country to provide interstate poker. Its clientele will expand once Michigan allows local operators to merge their online poker pools with those in Delaware, New Jersey, and Nevada.
The Michigan Gambling Control Board (MGCB) is currently reviewing a draft bill and is likely to expeditiously sign the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) if the State Attorney General will approve it. Then, individual operators will have to seek multi-state play’s approval.
Ty Stewart, WSOP Executive Director told pokerfuse that WSOP is still determined to promote online poker in the country despite being the first operator to offer interstate poker. The official added that the poker platform wants to offer poker players a unified experience and allow them to compete with bettors in regulated states.
