The World Series of Poker Circuit has a special edition that currently takes place on GGPoker. The tournament is simply called WSOP Online Circuit Series, and it offers plenty of events for online poker lovers.
However, 18 events come with a gold ring as the final prize, and the first two of those have successfully wrapped up.
In other words, two WSOP OCC champions were crowned, so let’s make a short overview of those events.
Event #1: “TheMadQeen” Wins $268,267
The main reason why WSOPC takes place on the web is the coronavirus pandemic that caused many live tournaments to be postponed or canceled. The WSOPC organizers decided to make a surprise for players who like this poker series, so they partnered up with GGPoker to offer players an online experience.
The two sides agreed that part of the earnings made from this tournament should go to charity — particularly to people affected by COVID-19. Therefore, the first event is called the COVID Charity event.
It was topped by a player from Canada who uses the nickname “TheMadQueen.” It lasted for 13 hours, and a total of 1,595 entries were recorded. The winner took home a total of $269,267.
The final table consisted of nine players. The first one to hit the rail was “Ben Carson” from Canada, who won $19,233. They were followed by “FeelsGTOman” from Germany for $26,750, and “zagzig” from Thailand for $37,204.
The sixth place was reserved for “Joji123” from UAE, who won $51,743, and “Tourmination” from Austria won $71,964 as the fifth-place player.
The player named “tiredfella” from Poland ended up with $100,088 in their pocket, and the last one to hit the rail before the heads-up play was “asonthe river” from Finland, who won $139,203.
It was a player from India called “Igutu” who faced “TheMadQueen” in the heads-up and even had a significant chip advantage at the start. Nevertheless, “TheMadQueen” managed to turn the tide and win the event. “Igutu” had to settle for the second place and the prize of $193,604.
Event #2: “JuanMartinDelPotro54” Wins $137,120
The second event is called WSOC Ring Event #2: KICK-OFF 500K. It was a $55 buy-in event that saw a total of 28,291 entries. The player who managed to top this enormous field was “JuanMartinDelPotro54” from Argentina, who managed to snatch the biggest chunk of the prize pool, winning a total of $137,120 for their effort.
The Argentinian faced a player nicknamed “jolen” from China, who had to settle for second place and the consolation prize of $97,732.
This concluded the first two events in the World Series of Poker Online Super Circuit. However, there are many more great events to come. The most important event will definitely be Event #17, which is the Main Event that comes with $5 million in guaranteed prizes.
