Pennsylvanians will celebrate this holiday season differently with a series of poker events hosted by WSOP PA. The poker operator has announced 17 events that start on December 5 and run through December 21.
Dubbed as WINter Wonderland, the upcoming festival will award about $300k in prize money. Interestingly, participants of these festivals also stand a chance to win seats to the World Series of Poker live festival scheduled for next year in Summer at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas.
More About WINter Wonderland
It has been five months since WSOP PA entered the Keystone state. The operator has hosted a series of tournaments in those five months, with WINter Wonderland being the sixth. This comes a few weeks after the Signature Series, which happened in November, awarding over $500k in prizes across 40 events.
This month, the poker operator is not resting but reducing the action to just 17 events with players competing for $300k in prize money. Also, some of the players will win the highly anticipated event, the 53rd WSOP.
While there are only 17 matches to play, they feature different formats to appeal to a wide range of players. These include 6-and 8-handed, Progressive Knock Out (PKO), freezeout, and Deepstack.
Players will enter any of the events with at least $55 or a maximum of $215, depending on the game. Ideally, there will be one tourney each day, with several prizes up for grabs.
One of these is cash which will be awarded from the start of the festival. On the first day, players will win $500 cash through a random draw.
Players motivated to win a seat to any of the 2022 WSOP tournaments have to play the second game of the WINter Wonderland. It is a PKO game giving $1000 worth of WSOP seats.
Another game where players can take a shot at these seats is the NLH PKO 8-max, with a $10k guarantee on December 15. The top six players will get $215in tournament tickets.
The biggest guarantee tourney of $100k will occur on December 19. Besides the prize, some players will win tickets, each valued at $1000 to 2022 WSOP. The buy-in for the event is $215.
On December 27, Pennsylvanians can take another shot at the 2022 WSOP by playing freeroll tournaments. The only requirement for entering these freerolls is to play at least five Winter Wonderland events.
A Look At 2022 WSOP
The 2022 WSOP is scheduled to run between May 31 to July 19. The details of the schedule are projected for release by January.
Just last month, WSOP ended its stay at the Rio on a high note. It awarded 99 bracelets and over $230 million. Even with the Coronavirus raging worldwide, the 2021 WSOP was a success and is recorded as one of the biggest in its history.
Next year, WSOP will move to another chapter, including hosting its events in a new location, Bally’s and Paris, which Caesars Entertainment owns. Six months to the launch of that event, and players are already excited about it.
Nevada and New Jersey players can also expect their version of WINter Wonderland. But, the website is yet to make an official announcement about it.
