Bernard Lee is mostly known as a host of the Bernard Lee Poker Show. However, he is also an avid poker player and he wanted to test his skills once again in an event from World Series of Poker Circuit that happened in Lake Tahoe.
He managed to win the event, which is called WSOP Circuit Harvey’s Lake Tahoe Event #3: $400 NLH Single Day. The prize for the first-placed player was $11,456. Lee’s other big achievements include the 13th place in the 2005 WSOP Main Event and another event where he won his first gold ring.

Lee commented on his victory and stated that he felt he hadn’t played badly for the first two days of the event. He recalled his previous event and added that he felt he played well then, but that he had been going the wrong way the whole time, which resulted in him leaving the tournament rather early. After RunGood in Council Buffs, it was a logical choice to travel to Lake Tahoe, where he managed to win another gold ring for himself and top the field of 124 players. In other words, Lee had a very difficult and unsuccessful start where he did not do well in the first two events of the series, but the third time was indeed a charm for him as he topped it easily.
But what was his secret for this success? He stated that had needed to clear his head and that he had been driving through the country with Doug Carli and his wife Karen. The ride and the scenery really helped him with his thoughts and he had a clear head for the event in Lake Tahoe.
Final Table Was Thrilling
The final table began with Lee being second in chips. He played his hands strategically and waited for his moment to seize the chip lead. This happened after some time when he managed to take the chips away from the chip leader at that moment – Mark Threadgill. This was a turning point for Bernard Lee, who started slowly grinding his way up, only to meet Paul Miller in the heads-up play.
Lee’s Reason to Win
Lee commented on his victory stating that it had been the goal all along and that he was finally happy to have another golden ring. He added that the first gold ring was dedicated to his daughter Maya and this time he dedicates it to his son Noah.
The first time Lee won the gold ring was in a World Series of Poker Circuit event called 2014 WSOPC Lodge Casino Event #9: $365 NLH Turbo. That event took place in Black Hawk, Colorado, and Lee managed to win $14,500. He was also very close to winning another golden ring on two more occasions. One of them was the 2008 WSOPC Caesars Indiana Event #11: $1,060 NLH where he won $40,237 as the runner-up.
