Another great World Series of Poker Europe tournament is underway. It takes place at one of the most important stops of the WSOPE — Rozvadov, Czech Republic. Rozvadov is important as it is home to a great casino that is a part of the King’s Resort. Located on the border with Germany, this place is at the true heart of Europe.
The festival started officially on Sunday and will last all the way through Nov. 4. A total of 15 gold bracelets will be awarded to event winners, and €23 million is available in guaranteed prizes.
Many popular poker players from around the globe already applied for some of the events. One of the names that drew a lot of attention is Hossein Ensan, who won the 2019 WSOP Main Event this year.
Another person who confirmed their attendance is Phil Hellmuth, who is always fun to watch, especially due to the fact that he has managed to win 15 gold bracelets so far. Hellmuth is usually accompanied by two other living legends of poker, Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu.
In fact, much is expected from Negreanu, as he is currently in third place on the leaderboard for the 2019 WSOP Player of the Year race. The only two players that are currently better than him are Robert Campbell and Shaun Deeb.
Other players who hope to achieve some great results at King’s Resort in Rozvadov include Philip Hui, who has managed to win a bracelet six times, and Chris Ferguson, who won the 2017 POY race.
Satellite Tournament Participants
Many players secured their free seats by playing satellite tournaments and achieving great results. These seats are mostly awarded for the WSOP Europe Main Event, which usually comes with a buy-in price of €10,350. The main event will start on Oct. 25 and last until Oct. 31.
King’s Resort hosted qualifiers for the Main Event, with players paying the entrance fee of only €100. This way, a total of 135 secured their seats.
There were also online satellite tournaments which awarded seats for the WSOPE Main Event, and they were mostly hosted at partypoker. Every Sunday, partypoker hosted satellites that required a buy-in of $1,050. In other words, players who were online at 8 pm CEST every Sunday had an opportunity to win a seat for the WSOP Main Event.
However, those who wish to compete in the European WSOP can find tournaments on partypoker that require a buy-in of only about $11. The luckiest ones will be able to qualify for the WSOPE Main Event this way.
The tournament opened with a €350 Opener No-Limit Hold ’em event, and there are going to be a lot of other interesting events for the rest of October. Stay tuned, as we are going to cover some of the important ones, paying special attention to the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event.
