Galfond’s Bold Move with RIO
More than just arriving at the American market, Galfond’s RIO proposal will cease to exist in the international poker world. Then, the network will be focused only on functioning in the U.S.
According to an official release, the intention is to operate within the boundaries of US-regulated online poker guidelines and on U.S. soil, bringing all functioning international branches to an end by January 3, 2022.
If successful, Galfond is expected to pursue states like New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia to quickly obtain licenses and resume his poker enterprise operations.
The announcement also stated that international users will have until April 3 to clear any open funds from the platform.
The move is bold, yet the reputation is solid. RIO has brought gaming dynamics that other providers in the market have adopted.
