An exciting NFC West showdown is set to take place on Thursday as the Arizona Cardinals visit the Seahawks in Seattle. There is currently a three-way tie for the division lead, so the winner will temporarily have a hold on first as they wait for the Rams to play on Monday night.
Kyler Murray led the Cardinals to an incredible comeback win on Sunday, connecting with DeAndre Hopkins on a hail mary play that we will be watching for the years to come. It’s incredible not only that it worked, but that Hopkins was able to catch the ball over three defenders in the area. You really never know what can happen on any given Sunday.
Seattle is coming off a disappointing defeat to the Rams and will try and bounce back. The Seahawks’ defense has been continuing to let them down, unable to finish drives to make big plays when they need to. There’s a clip of a Rams rushing touchdown in which Jamal Adams seemed to be giving minimal effort. To that, all we can say is, yikes.
The spread for Thursday’s game favors the Seahawks by 3.5 points. The over/under is set at 57.5.
Cardinals Looking to Stay Hot
Off one of the most impressive wins in the NFL this season, Arizona is looking to improve to 7-3. It’s crazy just how effective Kliff Kingsbury’s offense has been with Murray in such a short time, the two entering the league together last year. Ownership knew just what they were doing when they hired him, and of course, drafting Murray.
This is an explosive lineup with several other good options. Christian Kirk has been having a very strong year, while the running backs have gotten the job done.
Kenyan Drake and Chase Edmonds have both been producing as needed. And Murray has amassed nine rushing touchdowns already.
Murray in 2020 may be more dominant than 2019 MVP Lamar Jackson. And given just how dominant he was a year ago, that’s incredible. And it is praise that he has completely earned.
Seahawks Looking to Bounce Back
Two straight losses within the division would be a bad look for Seattle. The Seahawks can breathe a little easier knowing that the Bears dropped their fourth game in a row on Monday night. This puts space between them and the outside of the NFC playoff race.
Russell Wilson was struggling against Los Angeles, so the Seahawks had better hope it was a one-game blip. He has been exceptional for most of the year, a big reason for the team’s success. Given all the injuries they have endured, his consistent play could be seen as the biggest factor for the start they have gotten off to.
A playoff appearance will be likely for the Seahawks, but their effort will need to be better on the defensive end. It won’t be easy to slow Murray down. It’s a special Cardinals offense.
