In the Monday Night Football game, the Minnesota Vikings will go out on the road and take on the Chicago Bears. This is a battle of a pair of NFC North teams. The Minnesota Vikings come into the game with one of the top records in all of the National Football League. The Minnesota Vikings are 5-1. The Vikings won their first five games of the season, before falling at the Philadelphia Eagles last week.
For the Chicago Bears, they are 1-6 on the season, and fading fast. The Bears and 49ers are the only two teams in the NFC with just one win. Chicago is coming off a loss last Thursday night to the Green Bay Packers. The Minnesota Vikings are -5 over the Chicago Bears.
Bears Brutal for the Season
The Chicago Bears will welcome back their original starting quarterback Jay Cutler. After missing several games, he returns after Brian Hoyer goes out with an injury. Matt Barkley finished the game last week against the Packers. Cutler will re-gain a Chicago offense which is dead last in the National Football League in scoring.
The Bears are scoring just 15.9 points per game. Chicago is passing for more than 260 yards on the season, with Alshon Jeffrey yet to get into the endzone via the air. The Bears have their bye week next week, before going out on the road for two straight at the Buccaneers and on the road at the New York Giants.
Vikings Dropped One
The Minnesota Vikings are led by head coach Mike Zimmer. Zimmer keeps finding his Vikings winning games with taking care of the football and solid defense. Despite that, last week, the Vikings turned the ball over, and they lost. Minnesota is without their top running back Adrian Peterson, and starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.
Sam Bradford has started 5 games, and has thrown for more than 1,200 yards this season. The quarterback has found Stefon Diggs 27 times, for just shy of 300 yards and a touchdown. Minnesota has the best defense in all of the league, allowing 14 points per game.
Can the Bears Cover?
The Minnesota Vikings should win this game, right? The only concern when betting this game is the fact that Minnesota really struggles to score. In a game that seems a 5 point spread, you get a little concerned with teams that struggle to score. The Chicago Bears certainly are going to struggle to get into the 20’s in this game, so three touchdowns could be enough for Minnesota. In the end, the Chicago Bears are going to keep this close, but Minnesota wins the game. The betting pick for this game is the Chicago Bears +5 over the Minnesota Vikings.
