On Super Tuesday, the Indiana Hoosiers travel to Cameron Indoor Stadium to take on the Duke Blue Devils in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Indiana comes in 5-1 with their only loss being a one-point game at Arkansas. Duke comes in at 5-1 as well with their only loss coming to the new number one ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs in the Maui Jim Maui Championship Game.

Langford Leads The Way
Indiana’s superstar freshman Romeo Langford has been the leader for this team early in the season. He is the leading scorer with 18.5 points per game. The Hoosiers also get nice contributions from preseason national player of the year candidate Juwan Morgan. Morgan is averaging 17.5 PPG as well as nine rebounds per game so far. Indiana looks to get some veteran leadership from St. Mary’s transfer Evan Fitzner.
Duke Relies On Freshmen Superstars
On the other side, the Duke Blue Devils possess four superstar freshmen themselves. The quartet of R.J. Barrett, Zion Williamson, Cam Reddish, and Tre Jones has combined for 68.7 points per game. They also get some veteran help from big men Marques Bolden and Javin DeLaurier. Zion Williamson has been the sparkplug for this Blue Devils team, electrifying crowds with his magnificent dunks and athletic ability. People believed there would not be enough basketballs to go around to feed the mouths of these four freshmen, but that has not been the case. The freshmen have all played unselfish basketball and have put winning as the main focus rather than personal statistics, and that is what will help them be successful all year long.
Hoosiers vs. Blue Devils Overview
Indiana is coming off a 14-point victory last Friday against UC Davis. Indiana trailed by two at the half but outscored UC Davis 40-24 in the second half to get the win. Juwan Morgan lead the way with 31 points and 10 rebounds as the freshman Langford chipped in 20 points of his own. Indiana will have to rely on their defense to try and slow down this potent Blue Devil offense if they want to have a chance. Indiana scores 84 points a game and allows 60 a game, but this Duke team is a different animal. If they can keep them under 90 points, they have a chance to keep this one close.
Duke is coming off the loss to Gonzaga last week that I previously mentioned. In that game, the freshmen lead the way again. Barrett had 23 points, Williamson had 22, Jones chipped in 17, and Reddish scored 10. At the end of the game, trailing by one score, Barrett took it upon himself to try and tie or take the lead. In the final minute of the game, Barrett was the only Blue Devil to shoot, and may have been the only one that touched the ball. He went 0-5 from the field in the final minute which lead to the Duke loss. This is not the unselfishness that was displayed in the first five games, but this cannot become the norm for Duke or they will lose more games then expected.
Hoosiers vs. Blue Devils Prediction
Duke comes in as 14.5-point favorites. I think that Duke will win this game. They just have too much offense for Indiana to handle for a full 40 minutes. However, I think that Indiana has enough firepower of their own to keep up for much of the ballgame. I think their experience will help them on the road and keep them within 10 for most of the game. Take Indiana and the points on the road.
