The Boston Bruins will have a tough game on Tuesday night as they will be taking on the Calgary Flames. Calgary has also been one of the better teams in hockey this season, as they sit at 27-21-12. Boston, on the other hand, comes into this one at 46-8-5 and has the most points in all of hockey this season, with 97.
That’s 11 more than the second-place Carolina Hurricanes.
This game, however, will be played in Calgary, and that could be something to watch out for here. The Bruins are still going to be coming in as the favorite at -130 on the moneyline.
Bruins Looking for Eight In A row
Despite this game being played in Calgary, not taking the Bruins here would be a bit questionable given what they’ve been able to do throughout the past few weeks. Not only has this team been playing elite hockey throughout the past few weeks, but they still don’t even have 10 regulation losses on the season.
They’re going to be coming into this one at 8-2 in their last 10 games and have managed to win seven straight. In those seven games, they’ve beaten some impressive teams, including the Edmonton Oilers, New York Islanders, Dallas Stars, and others throughout their 10 games stretch.
This game is going to be an interesting one, given that they’re still on a long west coast road trip, but Boston has proven throughout the season that they can beat anybody on any given night and do so handily.
Calgary Needs to Get Back on Track
The Calgary Flames come into this one playing much better hockey throughout the past few months than they are right now.
Calgary is just 3-4-3 in their last 10 games and has lost their last two. Their last two losses do come against the Vegas Golden Knights and Colorado Avalanche, but this team could still be much better.
They have some impressive wins in their last 10, including a win over the New York Rangers, showing that when they’re at their best, they’re still one of the top teams in the league.
If they’re going to want to win this game, they’re going to need to figure out a way to keep the puck out of the back of the net. They’ve given up at least four goals in three of their last four games, and that’s not going to be the recipe for success against this Bruins team.
The Bruins can put up goals whenever they want, and that’s something to keep in the back of our minds here.
Boston Bruins vs. Calgary Flames Prediction
Although the Flames have been one of the more interesting teams in the league this season, taking the Bruins to win this game outright at nearly plus odds at -130 looks to be the play. The Bruins have been the much better team recently, and quite honestly, this line does seem a bit off, and it could be a trap. However, sometimes the books just get it wrong, and that could be one of these situations.
The Bruins have been the much better team this season, and it would make sense if they find a way to win this game outright.
