We have a potential NBA Finals preview on Thursday. The Boston Celtics are on the road at the Denver Nuggets. The Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets come into this game both fresh off a loss. This is a rematch of a game played in Boston where the Nuggets won 102-100 in January.
For Boston, they had won 11 straight games before going to Cleveland and blowing a fourth quarter lead. The Celtics, despite the loss still are running away with the Eastern Conference lead. The Celtics are 48-13 on the season.
For Denver, it took overtime, but they fell at home to the Phoenix Suns. The Nuggets with the loss are now third in the Western Conference. Denver is 42-20 overall.
The Boston Celtics are -1 over the Nuggets. The total is 221.5.
Celtics on the Verge
The Boston Celtics have not lost two games in a row all season. The only remotely close stretch was in November when they lost in Charlotte, beat the Bucks, and then lost the next game in Orlando. The Celtics went 9-1 during the month of February, and are 2-1 in March so far.
Boston’s leading scorer is Jayson Tatum. Tatum is scoring more than 27 points per game. Jaylen Brown has been terrific as well, with 22.4 points per game, while Kristaps Porzingis is also over 20 per game. Boston as a team is scoring 121 points per game, which is third to Indiana and Milwaukee.
Next up for the Celtics is a trip to Phoenix to battle the Suns. After that, Boston will stop in Portland and Utah. The next home game for the Celtics is on March 14th against the Suns.
Nuggets Frustrated over Loss
The Denver Nuggets are frustrated over their home loss to the Phoenix Suns. The overtime period did not go well, and they lost their first game of the month. Denver finished the month of February with five straight wins. The previous loss was on Valentine’s Day at home to the Sacramento Kings.
The Nuggets are led by Nikola Jokic. The big man is scoring 25.9 points per game, ripping down 12.3 rebounds, and dishing out 9.2 assists per game. Jamal Murray is next for Denver with 20.8 points per game. Third on the Nuggets is MIchael Porter, with 16.6 per game.
The Nuggets after this game will host the Utah Jazz on Saturday. A visit from Toronto on Monday will wrap up the home stand. The Nuggets then head to Miami, San Antonio, Dallas and Minneapolis for a four game trip.
Celtics Lose Two in a Row
This should be a great basketball game. Which of these teams is going to lose two in a row? Will this be a matchup we see for the NBA Finals in June? Look for Denver to play better at home. The Celtics on the road are kind of going through the motions with their big divisional lead. We like the Nuggets to take down the Celtics here.
Our final bet for this game is the Denver Nuggets +1 over the Boston Celtics on Thursday in the National Basketball Association!
