A pair of Eastern Conference foes will get together on Monday in the National Basketball Association. The Boston Celtics will visit the Washington Wizards. Boston has started with back-to-back wins, including a home win over the Heat on Friday.
The first win of the season was on the road to the Knicks. Washington on the other side started the season with a loss on the road to the Pacers but came back with a win over the Grizzlies. Washington allowed 143 points in the season opener and had to bounce back quickly. The defense was much better when they got home holding the Grizzlies to just 106. On the offensive side, Washington has some weapons. Tyus Jones, who came from Memphis is scoring 15 points per game, and making half his shots. Kyle Kuzma is scoring 23 points per game, while Delon Wright is dishing out 6.5 assists per game.
The Wizards lost Bradley Beal in the offseason, so there will need to be additional pieces step up to make up for his loss. Jordan Poole came from the Warriors and is scoring 22.5 points per game. The rest of the scoring comes from Corey Kispert, Danilo Gallinari and Deni Avdija.
Washington will start a road trip on Wednesday. They will play their first of four games on the road at Atlanta, before trips to Miami, Philadelphia, and Charlotte.
Celtics Win in a Close One
The Boston Celtics should win this game. But, the Washington Wizards can hang in this game and compete with Boston. Look for Washington to keep the game close, and a couple of possessions game here.
