Brooklyn Nets vs Los Angeles Lakers Betting Preview

The Nets will be in LA to face the LakeShow on Thursday night in a game that will have every eyeball on it. Even with Kevin Durant and Anthony Davis not playing, this will be a thrilling contest that is going to end up with one team taking a win and surprising the other. Two great offenses are going head-to-head. A rare case where each team being without a star doesn’t destroy ratings.

The Nets should have Kyrie back, but if they don’t, James Harden showed just two nights ago that the team is still capable when they have just one star. They were down by over 24 points to the Suns before rallying for the win on TNT. Ian Eagle called the early game on the network, or he would have been voicing his team’s comeback nationally.

LA is sitting at 22-7 and in the #2 slot in the West. There are three teams that are better than anybody in the East, as it is very clear what the dominant conference is this year. It’s just like the olden days where the West would be much better than the East. It’s no wonder they get so many titles, generally speaking. They produce better teams.

ODDS:
The spread is currently set at LAL -2.5. The over/under is 236.5 points.

Nets Looking for Key Win

Coming in with a three-game win streak, coach Steve Nash said after Brooklyn’s last win that it was “just vibes.” The team still isn’t defending effectively, but it’s cool that the first-time coach is having so much fun at the helm and enjoying his team. It’s still crazy to think of Nash as a head coach, but the team is 18-12 amidst some injury problems and size issues, so not bad.

They also just added Andre Roberson, who will not likely be ready to play in this one. When he does return, he’ll provide good size and defensive ability, as he did for many years in OKC. He joins his old friend Kevin(Durant) with this team. There are five former OKC players on the Nets.

It all comes down tonight to how the team defends LeBron.

Lakers Look to Take it at Brooklyn

Prior to last season, it had been a long time since a LeBron-led team had a dominant regular season. In his return to Cleveland, the most wins they had was 57, finishing between 50-53 the other three years. It’s all about what happens in the playoffs. He’s made it to the NBA finals in five of six years since leaving Miami, where his team repped the East every time.

With Anthony Davis out, LA is relying heavily on Marc Gasol and Montrezl Harrell to make up for that discrepancy. Markieff Morris should play a lot in this game against Brooklyn, who doesn’t utilize DeAndre Jordan all that well.

If LeBron locks in and plays well, the team has a good shot at winning.

KD-less Nets Keep it Rolling

They beat Sacramento and Phoenix without him, and LA is next. Durant or not, here they come. Brooklyn wins.
