We will have an exciting game on Friday night as the Calgary Flames will be taking on the Seattle Kraken. Both of these teams have played above-average hockey this season, as Calgary currently comes in with 55 points and the Kraken lead the Pacific Division with 61. Although the Flames are just six points behind them, they are in 5th place in the standings. This could be a huge game that shakes up the Pacific Division standings if Calgary does come out and find a way to get the job done. Considering that this one is going to be played in Seattle, however, it might not be a bad idea to back the Kraken here.
Seattle is currently -120 on the puck line.
Do the Flames Have Enough?
When looking at what the Calgary Flames have done this season, it’s easy to see why people believe that this could be one of the best teams in hockey if they get on the right side of things. They made some great additions throughout the offseason including Nazem Kadri.
Nazem Kadri has played well for Calgary this season, as he has 38 points in just 49 games played. However, he still hasn’t been a plus on the ice, as he currently has a -8 plus/minus. Jonathan Huberdeau is the man to watch out for here, however, as he has 33 points in 46 games and is even on the plus/minus side of things.
Can Seattle Stay Hot?
The Seattle Kraken continue to be one of those interesting teams, and when we say that they’re interesting, we certainly mean it. They have games where they come out and can beat anybody in the world, but then other games where they simply don’t get the job done when they need to. Calgary is going to give them a tough task, but Seattle might have the upper hand in this game with how well they’ve played. They’re coming off an impressive 6-1 win against the Vancouver Canucks, as Jared McCann was sensational for them in that game with three points.
This isn’t anything new from him this season, as he comes into this one with an impressive 34 points in 44 games and is a +7 on the ice.
If the Kraken are going to want to continue winning games, they need him and the rest of the guys to continue to play at an elite level. This Kraken team had a disappointing season a year ago after starting their franchise on the right foot, so it’s no surprise to see them back on track and figuring this thing out. They have a tough stretch coming up with the Flames, Islanders, Devils, and Rangers in four of their next five games, but this team knows how to get the job done, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them do exactly that.
Calgary Flames vs. Seattle Kraken Prediction
Because this game is going to be played in Seattle, it might not be a bad idea to back the Kraken. They’ve been very good all season long, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see them continue their dominance. Because of that, if we had to lean one way, we would certainly go with Seattle here.
