Chicago was able to bounce back with a clutch win last week thanks to the magic foot of Eddy Piniero, moving its record to 1-1 and beating the now 0-3 Broncos. Their defense has been coming on, while the offense continues to improve. They have some serious work that they have to do now, however, especially with the Packers being 3-0, and the other two teams in the NFC North both being over .500. They need this win.
The Redskins, on the other hand, have had the lead plenty this year but find themselves at 0-2, and there is one question on everybody’s mind: When is Dwayne Haskins going to fill in as the starter for the first time? For the time being, this is Case Keenum’s team, and the running game has not been good for them at all just yet. With injuries and old age at the position, there is plenty of work that will need to be done from them to win.
The spread for the Monday Night Football game favors Chicago by 6.5 points, while the over/under is set at 41.5.
Chicago Looks To Climb Over .500
After a disappointing showing against Green Bay in the opening week, the Bears were able to bounce back to knock off the Broncos last week. Their running game is still trying to get going, and this week could be the time that it finally does. They have a lot of youth at the position, learning lessons each and every week. Mitchell Trubisky’s decision-making has been heavily scrutinized, so with this matchup, he will be hoping to convince his team to believe him and his “fans” to have fewer things to criticize.
Their defense has playmakers all over the place, so as long as they are locked in and bringing pressure, they will be just fine. Look for Khalil Mack to deliver multiple sacks on Keenum tonight.
Redskins Search For First Win
The running game has not been good at all for these guys, with Derrius Guice struggling during Week 1 before getting injured and Adrian Peterson going absolutely nowhere a week ago, When you cannot establish it early in games, there is just no way for play-action passing to work successfully. With this being the case and a poor overall receiving corps, things are just not great. Jay Gruden is still the coach, but his seat has got to be getting hot at some point with all of the underachieving he has done with this bunch.
Their defense has some solid veterans who will need to bring the pressure on Trubisky. Look for Ryan Kerrigan to have a big performance, with Matt Ionnadis following suit. These two guys are the ultimate key to slowing down the Bears.
Chicago Picks Up Road Win
Led by big-play Tarik Cohen, the Bears will be picking up the MNF victory. They won’t have much trouble disposing of their opponents.
