Chicago has been struggling all year, but they do have some new players coming in. Otto Porter is now in the fold, as Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker are off to DC. Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot has begun getting minutes too.
CARIS IS COMING BACK! We thought his season was over when he first got hurt, but just a few months later, he’s returning to the floor to aid in Brooklyn’s playoff push. This is going to be fun.

Bulls:
Dealing with various injuries right now, we won’t get to see all of their top players out there at once. But with Otto Porter Jr. potentially making his debut tonight, this team could get a lot more fun to watch. Kris Dunn will have the opportunity down the stretch run to prove to the franchise if he is worth re-signing. He, Markkanen, and LaVine were the return haul from trading Jimmy Butler, so they would hope that he pans out enough to be kept. He has had health issues during each of the past two years, which does not necessarily justify paying him the big bucks.
Though he did not get to the All-Star Game, Zach LaVine has continued to get buckets and be the leader of this team. Lauri Markkanen has been showing us how dominant he can be on offense of late, and he and LaVine have formed quite the tandem. Porter Jr. is the best small forward this team has had since they had Luol Deng, so it’s quite an upgrade.
Nets:
They snapped out of a mini-skid with a high-scoring victory over the Nuggets in their last game, one which they absolutely had to have. Currently sitting in the #6 spot, they are getting Caris LeVert back after he missed the past 42 games. They were lucky that the damage was so minimal, as most people believed his season was over and he could miss up to a year after being carted off, but he’s back. The team has not been the same without Spencer Dinwiddie around, so now D’Angelo Russell can have a little pressure taken off of him as the lead playmaker.
Joe Harris, Rodions Kurucs, and DeMarre Carroll have all been stellar with the three-ball, along with Russell, playing a big part in their recent success. Jarrett Allen has been playing some terrific basketball, as he’s been selected to join the Rising Stars Game. Getting Treveon Graham back in the lineup has also played a significant part in their turnaround.
Nets keep it rolling, get their 30th win of the year
Brooklyn -8.5! That’s the bet you need to make. Chicago won’t stand much of a chance tonight against the Nets, as D’Angelo Russell turns in another masterful performance to guide his squad to the W.
LaVine will have a big game, but it won’t be enough.
