Chicago has not played well of late at all, with the exception of Lauri Markkanen and Zach LaVine. They are in the midst of a multi-week losing skid, and they just decided to extend Jim Boylen.
LA, on the other hand, has slipped to the #9 seed, and are just 3-7 without LeBron. They just lost to the 8-35 Cavs, so this could be just as much of a trap game for them.

Bulls:
The losses have continued to pile up, as they have also badly missed Justin Holiday, who they sent to Memphis; Wayne Selden is not quite the same player as Holiday, and while this is supposed to a rebuild, it is hard to see them struggle without one of their top stars. They still rank dead last in scoring, as they did a few weeks ago, and it does not seem that will change any time soon. It’s good to see Kris Dunn healthy and balling out there, but it won’t help them to any more wins. They have been playing Jabari Parker a bit of late due to injuries.
Zach LaVine will likely get voted into this year’s All-Star game, thanks to how much he’s been able to score. He and Lauri Markkanen have been the top two guys on the team, but not much else has gone their way. It is odd to see that Boylen got an extension, based on some of the issues we have heard about within the organization. Hey, we’re on the outside looking in. But is there a method to the madness?
Lakers:
They have the #12 scoring offense in the league, and the point totals have not dropped off too much, despite being without LeBron for the past few weeks. Kyle Kuzma dropped 42 points in a win against the Pistons, breaking out of a mini-funk, which has started up again the past few contests. Brandon Ingram’s scoring totals have been way up of late, while KCP has been giving them a lot off the bench. Lonzo Ball plays much better when Rondo is not available, knowing there are a lot more opportunities for him.
This is game #11 without LBJ, and the team has gone just 3-7 since, so they really need to try and turn it around. The Kings took over as the #8 seed after their win over Portland last season, so now the Lakers are in the #9 spot, outside the playoff picture. Can they turn it around against the ice-cold Bulls?
Lakers win, find some of their mojo
Win #24 of the season (hey, Kobe), is coming for the Lakers tonight. Brandon Ingram is going to take this game over early, and attack Chandler Hutchison on various occasions.
Markkanen is going to score it well for the Bulls, but that won’t lead them to a victory on this night. Go LA, go!
