The Chicago White Sox will travel to Los Angeles on Wednesday to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers. While the White Sox come into this one as one of the more disappointing teams in Major League Baseball, they have a chance to turn their season around with an impressive win against the Dodgers on Wednesday. They lost the first game of this three-game set on Tuesday, 5-1, as their offense continued to not be able to do much.
That’s been a major call for concern for this White Sox team throughout the past few months, and if they don’t figure it out anytime soon, the Dodgers are going to take advantage of it. Los Angeles is in second place in the National League West at 38-29 and are three games behind the first-place Arizona Diamondbacks, which isn’t common.
Los Angeles comes into this one at -275 on the moneyline in -130 on the run line.
Look For A Los Angeles Win
When looking at what the Dodgers have done this season, many are still high on them and believe that they can win a World Series this season. They haven’t played too well in their last 10 games, only winning four of those. That’s part of the reason why they’re currently in second place in the National League West, which, again, isn’t something that’s typically said about Los Angeles.
They’re going to have to come out here and do what they do best, and that’s win games at a high level as they’ve done throughout the past five years. Clayton Kershaw will be on the bump. The 35-year-old left-handed picture out of Dallas has been one of the best pitchers in baseball history and has thrown well once again this season. Outside of a few starts, he would have under a 2.5 ERA. He comes into this one with a 2.95 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP.
He threw a gem in his last start against the Cincinnati Reds and also only gave up two earned runs in seven innings against the New York Yankees in the game prior to that. If that same Clayton shows up for Los Angeles on Wednesday, the White Sox are going to have a tough time winning this game.
Will Chicago Win A Game?
The whole year has been a major call for concern for the Chicago White Sox all season long, and if they don’t figure it out sometime soon, they might be sellers at the deadline, and some of the guys that we’ve seen in Chicago for the past few years are going to be gone. The likes of Tim Anderson, Luis Robert, and others, could all be going elsewhere in the next few months.
Chicago, despite the struggles, are just 5.5 games behind the first-place Minnesota Twins in the American League Central.
They’re going to need to play their best if they want to beat Los Angeles, but as we’ve seen with them throughout some of their games this year, they can figure things out. It’s going to be interesting to see if that’s going to be the case, but Chicago does have enough on both sides of the ball to win this game.
Chicago White Sox at Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Prediction
Taking the Dodgers – 1.5 seems to be the best bet here. With how well Clayton Kershaw has thrown in his last few outings and the Dodgers being a team that knows how to win, seeing them win won’t be surprising. They should win this game if they come out and play their best.
