As far as confusing divisions go in the NFL, the AFC North has to be towards the top of the list with how their teams have fared as we are about a quarter of the way through the season.
On this week’s edition of Sunday Night Football, we will see the Cincinnati Bengals on the road to take on the Baltimore Ravens in a battle for the division.
With the way this season has gone, both of these teams have something to prove as we move into the middle stretch of games.
Two highly explosive offenses will give us must watch television and this game will likely be one of the highlights of the whole weekend.
So far, Baltimore is 0-2 at home coming into this matchup, but they do end up drawing the favorite over Cincinnati at -3.
Joe Burrow: calm, cool and collected at all times
After seeing him blossom in the postseason last year, Joe Burrow has proved once again that he is not worried for a moment in his team’s ability to get to where they need to be as contenders.
With such a strong offense behind him, it is no wonder why he has confidence in their system and his ability to get the ball to the open receiver.
The offensive line has shown some problems in the opening weeks, but they have tidied it up as the team is moving along here, which is good news for the health of Burrow moving forward.
The Ravens’ defense was looking suspect, but last week they managed to contain Josh Allen and the Bills, so we will see what that means for this game.
Lamar needs some help on the ground to make this offense work
Lamar has been going crazy this season as a runner and as a passer, and certainly looks like one of the favorites for MVP in the opening weeks.
Keeping that high level of consistency up is going to be the problem, but it certainly won’t be impossible for him as he has shown this level of efficiency in previous years.
The running game beyond Lamar is where the Ravens need to improve their team as no one else really has the same explosive ability to help this game get to where they need to go.
We’ll see if those backs can get a handle on things here against the Bengals.
Bengals @ Ravens Betting Predictions
With the Ravens drawing the slight home favorite, it makes sense to lean in their direction. Even thinking that it would be strange for an NFL team to be 0-3 in their first three home games.
Even still, Burrow has the weapons on the outside that will give the defensive backs of Baltimore some trouble.
Look out for Tee Higgins to go for a monster game in this one, and watch for him to break away for a score like he did in their last matchup with Miami.
Take the Bengals on the road for this game at +3.
