The Cincinnati Reds will take on the Atlanta Braves once again on Tuesday night for what’s expected to be one of the better games of the day. Although Cincinnati was expected to struggle a bit this season, the squad has played well in the early part of the season. At 4-5 overall and competing with some of the better teams in baseball, Cincinnati is showing that they have a bright future ahead of them.
They ended up beating the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday and then turned around and gave up a walk-off home run to Atlanta on Monday.
If they’re going to continue playing this type of baseball throughout the next few weeks, Cincinnati could put themselves in a very good position. The National League Central is arguably the weakest division in baseball, and anything can happen if they find ways to win.
Will the Reds Keep Competing?
When looking at what Cincinnati has done this season, it’s impressive what the team has been able to do on the offensive side of the baseball. They’ve had games throughout the year where they’re scoring five-plus runs and that’s not something that was typically said about a Cincinnati team throughout the past few seasons.
Now, the pitching doesn’t need to be a bit better, but they have some impressive young arms that could be a huge addition to this squad in the near future. Even already with guys like Nick Lodolo and Hunter Greene.
Luis Cessa is going to be on the mound for Cincinnati on Tuesday and he’s not a bad option to run out there every five days.
Although he’s a bit past his golden years, he’s thrown well this season with a 3.38 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP in one start. If their bats can continue showing up, and guys like Will Myers, Jonathan India, Jake Fraley, and others continue impressing, Cincinnati is going to be a tough team to beat when they have some of their better arms on the mound.
Atlanta’s Looking for Another Series Win
The Atlanta Braves have continuously proven that they can beat anybody on any given night. Not only is this team very good offensively, but they’re just incredible from top to bottom. They find ways to win and that’s impressive in Major League Baseball. No matter who Atlanta is going up against, they typically have the upper hand because of their depth and star power.
After struggling for most of the night against Cincinnati on Monday, newly added Sean Murphy stepped up and hit an absolute bomb for Atlanta. He was able to get the job done and send his Braves home with an impressive walk-off win.
There’s a good chance that something similar does happen on Tuesday. Although Cincinnati has proven to be better than they have been in the past two seasons, Atlanta is still arguably the best team in Major League Baseball.
Cincinnati Reds vs Atlanta Braves Betting Preview Prediction
This game could be a bit interesting given the fact that Atlanta did just play a tough game against them on Monday, but taking the Braves -1.5 doesn’t seem like a bad idea here. Those odds would be -115 and given the value, it’s tough to pass up.
