Come from Behind Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche saw themselves behind 3-0 after one period in Game 1. Slowly, but surely, the Avalanche made their way back in the game. Valeri Nichuskin got the scoring started, and then Cale Makar added a second. Nathan MacKinnon tied the game with his third of the postseason.
In overtime, unlikely scoring source Miles Wood scored a goal to win the game. Wood scored just 9 goals in the regular season, but now has three in the postseason. The Avalanche now scored four goals or more in all six of their postseason games thus far in 2024.
Top scorer Nathan MacKinnon has recorded a point in every game so far. MacKinnon had 7 assists and 2 goals in the series against the Jets. Mikko Rantanen had also gained points in each game, with two assists on Tuesday.
Dallas Trailing in Series Again
Ryan Suter, Wyatt Johnston and Jamie Benn all recorded first period goals for Dallas. It was the first of the postseason for Suter, while Johnston recorded his fifth and Benn’s second. That was all the scoring, as Alexander Georgiev of the Avalanche stonewalled the Stars the rest of the game.
Jason Robertson had an assist in the game, which was his first point since Game 5 of the Vegas series. Robertson scored 29 goals in the regular season. Joe Pavelski also picked up an assist, which was his first of the entire postseason.
Jake Oettinger had 22 saves in the game, but it was not enough. The 25 year old went 35-14-4 in the regular season, with a 2.72 goals against average. The Stars allowed just 2.83 goals per game as a team, which was 8th in the league.
Colorado Tops Dallas
Look for more of where Game 1 came from. Colorado got the momentum, and are a team that can score in bunches. Despite the Stars being the top seed, and the favorite in this game, we are going to take the Colorado Avalanche.
Colorado goes on the road and wins back to back games, causing trouble for Dallas. Our final bet for this game is the Colorado Avalanche +115 over the Dallas Stars. Enjoy the game!
