The Colorado Rockies will travel to Arizona once again on Wednesday to take on the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks and Rockies are playing their third game of a four-game set as the Diamondbacks have a chance to win the series on Wednesday night with another win. They’re currently leading the series 2-0 after an impressive 7-5 win in game 1 and a 5-1 win in game 2.
With how much better the Diamondbacks have played than Colorado this season, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them come away with another win. The Diamondbacks have arguably been one of the top teams in the National League this season as they’re currently tied for the second-best record in NL.
Tommy Henry will be on the mound for the Diamondbacks, which could be good news for them. Despite being a youngster, the sportsbooks still believe that he’s going to be able to get the job done. They come in as -165 favorites on the moneyline.
Will Diamondbacks Win the Series?
When looking at the season the Arizona Diamondbacks have had, it’s easy to see why people are high on them this year. This team has swung the bat at a high level for certain parts throughout the year and have also got production out of their arms. The one thing to watch out for with Arizona is that they have a ton of young talent mixed in with some veteran players. Guys like Corbin Carroll, Lourdes Gurriel Jr, Christian Walker, Ketel Marte, and others have all impressed for Arizona throughout the year.
They also boost a decent pitching staff with potential Cy Young Award winners Zac Gallen, Merrill Kelly, and others.
They played well against Colorado throughout the first two games of this series, giving up only a combined six runs and scoring at 12 themselves. They were able to do so behind two impressive pitching performances by their starting pitchers and will need to continue doing so if they want to win a third game.
Colorado Needs To Win One
The Colorado Rockies have had a disappointing season, but that was expected coming into the year. They’ve now lost five of their last 10 games and are still 10 games behind the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers and 8.5 games behind the second-place Diamondbacks. If they want to find a way to get back in the mix of things, winning games in the NL West is going to be huge for them.
There are a few ways that we can look at the way that Colorado has played this year, but at the end of the day, they haven’t been a team that can’t find ways to win games at an elite level. They currently have the second-worst record in the National League and it’s been a significant call for concern.
Colorado Rockies at Arizona Diamondbacks Betting Preview Prediction
It’s tough to bet on the Rockies because of what they’ve shown us this year, so taking the Diamondbacks in any form doesn’t seem to be a bad idea. The Diamondbacks are the better team and could come away with another impressive win.
