Much to the surprise of all watching, Denver lost game two against Miami on their home court. This was their first home loss of the postseason.
Game three will tip-off on Wednesday night and this time it will be in Florida on the Heat’s home court.
Carrying a decent-sized lead into the fourth quarter of game two, the Denver Nuggets were set to be on the path towards their first NBA Championship in franchise history.
An insane run by Duncan Robinson to begin the fourth quarter put the Heat ahead and they held until the last couple of possessions where Jamal Murray missed a three-pointer to tie the game.
The role players came into form for the Heat and started hitting three pointers at a clip like they had done in previous series. The scariest part for Denver is that Jimmy Butler hasn’t played well yet.
With the series tied at 1-1, ahead of the action on Wednesday night the Denver Nuggets are favored on the road against Miami at -2.5.
Cracking the code against the Zombie Heat
All playoffs, we have seen the Heat find ways to surmount the insurmountable, and it has made fools out of any team they have faced.
The Nuggets were not spared in this endeavor, and now they have to go into Miami to try and take back home court for the series on Wednesday or Saturday.
It can be done, and Nikola Jokic has absolutely dazzled once again and looks far and away like the best player in this series and the best player in the league.
There just needs to be some accountability for the two fourth-quarter runs that were given up in game one and game two of this series.
The most improbable run in NBA history
All of the stats and all of the numbers point to this being one of the most unlikely scenarios we could have possibly seen in this postseason.
Time and time again, the Heat are a team who is built to always hang around in these games and find a way to pull ahead.
All hope appeared lost, and then Robinson came out scorching hot to start the fourth quarter, giving the Heat the game to even the series.
Really the recipe for success is to dictate the pace of the series, and continue to hit threes at an elite level to bring home another title for the franchise.
Nuggets @ Heat Betting Preview
Similar to the Eastern Conference Finals, the Heat are home underdogs in this game and that puts them right where they want to be.
Everyone has doubted them along the way, and they do get streaky in some of these series so it stands to reason.
However, this is the perfect opportunity to rip the hearts out of the Denver franchise and put their statement out to the league that they belong in this series.
Take the Heat as underdogs in game three at +2.5.
