It is rare that in a College Football Playoff, we get to experience two games that absolutely came down to the wire in the best way possible.
Sadly, that does not look like it will be the case with the National Championship taking place on Monday night between the Georgia Bulldogs and the TCU Horned Frogs.
The biggest difference between these two teams is how both of them got here: Georgia spent most of its season dominating their opponents, and TCU spent most of their season making last-second heroic comebacks out of nowhere.
Both teams are equally deserving of making an appearance in this game, but the spread is heavily favoring Georgia ahead of this contest, and it stands to reason. Georgia is nearly 100% healthy for the first time all season long.
Being a massive underdog is no stranger to TCU, but this spread favors the Bulldogs at -12.5.
Does Stetson Bennett have one more win left in him?
For most of his career, Stetson Bennett has been the man counted out, but with only one loss in the last two seasons at Georgia and a chance for another National Championship, he has the ability to make a name for himself like never before.
This game for Georgia is going to be all about the play-calling from Todd Monken, the offensive coordinator.
After a relatively pedestrian start to their matchup with Ohio State, the healthy mix of running the ball and allowing Bennett to get out and make some throws made Georgia nearly impossible to stop.
If their defense manages to force a turnover or two, the Bulldogs are going to be looking at another ring in their future.
The team of miracles taking on Goliath
For many games this season, TCU somehow managed to pull off some improbable victories in the closing seconds.
Even against Michigan, their defense was able to come up with the game-winning stop on Michigan’s final drive to seal the game.
Pulling off these miracles takes a lot of strong will and confidence in the players on the field, but the Georgia team they are up against is like nothing they have seen yet.
Going in with nothing to lose is not necessarily a bad spot to be on, as the pressure will be entirely on Georgia to get this one done. Max Duggan will look to give his team one more chance.
Bulldogs vs. Horned Frogs Betting Prediction
With such a heavy favorite in a national title game, it is almost worth more value to take the underdog in these circumstances.
This game has some similarities to the Georgia vs. Tennessee game earlier in the year. Tennessee was the new kid on the block, and Georgia came out aggressive early and shut down any hope of Tennessee making it a game.
There will be a similar vibe in this one, and the Bulldogs will look to make the statement early and assert themselves over the Horned Frogs. Take Georgia and the big spread at -12.5.
