Green Bay Packers at Indianapolis Colts Betting Preview

Flexed into the late afternoon time slot, the Packers-Colts showdown in Indy promises to be exciting. Both of these teams are coming off wins last week and are in a position to make the playoffs. Each has a great head coach running the offense and leading the way.

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers have gone 20-5 since Matt LaFleur was hired before last season. When you consider their lack of weapons on offense and injury problems, this is truly impressive. David Bahktiari also just signed a four-year extension for $105 million. He’ll be protecting Green Bay QB’s for many years to come.

On the other hand, Indianapolis has a veteran in Philip Rivers, who switched teams for the first time in his career before this season. He was with the Chargers since being drafted #4 overall in 2004. As soon as he comes over to Indy, he has this team back on their way to a likely return to the playoffs. Not too shabby for a guy they call “noodle arm.”

ODDS:

The spread for Sunday’s game has the Colts favored by 2 points. The over/under is set at 51.5.

Packers Look to Improve to 8-2

After going 13-3 a season ago, Green Bay has done a marvelous job of proving in 2020 that it was no fluke. Making minimal changes from a season ago, the team has begun the year by winning seven of their first nine games. Aaron Rodgers is continuing to show that father time won’t be able to catch him for a long time.

He has been slinging the ball as well as ever with a limited number of weapons on offense. Even with Davante Adams was out of the lineup, he never missed a beat. All of the players on the roster seem to step up whenever they need to. And that’s what it takes to be a winning team in the NFL.

If they hope to come out on top against the Colts, it will take the entire roster playing well and being ready.

Colts Look to Stun Hot Packers Team

Despite being favored in this game, the Colts feel like underdogs heading into it. They have many more targets for their QB to throw to than the Packers do, and they have three solid running backs splitting the carries pretty evenly.

The linebackers for the Colts will have a hard time with Aaron Jones, something they should be working hard on in practice. Led by Darius Leonard, they have made big play after big play. Their secondary has been good enough to get the job done. Limiting A.J. Brown to one catch last week was critical.

Rookie receiver Michael Pittman has been great through his first two games. Look for him to have another big week for Indy’s offense.

Packers Pick Up the Road Win

Sorry Colts, but this is not your week. If the Titans lose to Baltimore, Indy will still be in first. In this one, the Packers will win by seven.
