The Indiana Pacers are 23-17 on the season, which is 6th in the Eastern Conference. The Pacers have dropped back to back games. The most recent loss for the Pacers was a blowout one at Utah.
For the Sacramento Kings, they are trying to stop their three game losing streak. The most recent loss for the Kings was on the road at the Suns. With the losses, they have dropped to 7th in the Western Conference. Sacramento is 23-17 on the season.
The Sacramento Kings are favorites in this game. The Kings are listed at -8.
Pacers Stay on the Road
The Indiana Pacers come into the game as the top scoring team in all of the National Basketball Association. The problem is the Pacers are one of the worst defensive teams as well. In the back to back losses to the Nuggets and Jazz, Indiana allowed 124.5 points per game.
Tyrese Haliburton has been out since the January 8th game against the Celtics. He played just 13 minutes in that game before leaving with a hamstring injury, He is a big loss for the Pacers, as he is scoring more than 23 points per game, and also dishing out 12.5 assists. Myles Turner has had to pick up some of the slack for the Pacers, with 17.2 points per game.
Right before this was sent out, the Pacers traded for Pascal Siakam of the Raptors. It is doubtful that Siakam will play in this game.
The Pacers are playing the fourth road game in a row, and seeking to get to .500 on the trip. Indiana will head out for two more after this. The Pacers are at the Trail Blazers on Friday and Suns on Sunday. THe next time the Pacers are home is January 23rd against the Denver Nuggets.
Kings Desperate for Win
During the three game losing streak for the Kings, they are allowing teams to score nearly 125 points per game. That is not going to work for the long term. Sacramento on offense is averaging 118.2 per game. That ranks 8th in all of the National Basketball Association. The Kings are third in three point shots made, with more than 15 per game.
The top scorer for the Kings has been DeAaron Fox. The former Kentucky Wildcats guard is scoring 28 points per game, and dishing out just shy of 6 assists per game. Fox and Domantas Sabonis have been a monster duo. Sabonis is scoring 20.1 points per game, and averaging more than 12 rebounds on the season.
The Kings will remain at home for a game on Monday against the Hawks. Following that, Sacramento will head out on the road for seven straight games. The Kings will make stops in San Francisco, Dallas, Memphis, Miami, Indianapolis, Chicago and Cleveland.
Kings Smack Pacers
The Pacers will be a little shorthanded, and the Kings are hungry for a win. We like Sacramento to come out strong here with a win. The final bet here is the Sacramento Kings -8 over the Indiana Pacers.
