Indy and Baltimore, the two teams that sort of have the same identity. Football first began in Baltimore with Johnny Unitas and the team being called the Colts. They are part of history with one another, though the recent matchups have gone the way of today’s home team. Ray Lewis helped lead his team to a Super Bowl title in his final year, beginning with a win vs. Indianapolis.
The Colts finally got their first win last week, knocking Miami off. This helped them avoid an 0-4 start and maybe even provides new life in a horrible division. The Titans have been very good, but Houston and Jacksonville have continued to do a lot of losing. Carson Wentz being healthy is a big key, as they have weapons all across the offense.
Baltimore is still playing with house money of sorts. The Super Bowl is their goal, but dealing with all the injuries, nobody would be on them for losing. And yet, they have defeated KC and Detroit in incredible fashion. They ended the 3-0 Broncos great start. And now they are looking to get to 4-1 and be alone atop a competitive AFC North.
Monday Night Football is sure going to be a lot of fun this week.
Betting Odds & Lines
The spread started as BAL -4, but has since jumped to BAL -7. The over/under is 46 points. The IND moneyline is +247, while it’s -311 for the Ravens.
Indy Seeking Key Primetime Win
If the Colts lose this game, there might be a little internal strife. But they are expected to lose, so if they can come out guns blazing, it can go a long way for them. They are a bit overmatched, but they have to start winning games if they truly want to make it to the playoffs again.
There are a number of 3-2 and 4-1 teams within the AFC and no time for the Colts to get down on themselves. The wins are going to need to begin now. With Michael Pittman and Zach Pascal leading, they have a solid WR corps, even without T.Y. Hilton. They have Jonathan Taylor running the ball well.
They just have to limit turnovers and keep the Ravens under 150 yards on the ground. And they will have a chance.
Baltimore Looks for Fourth Straight Win
Even with all of the injuries, they are dealing and the holes on the roster, Baltimore is still 3-1. They had the same record as Cleveland and as Cincy coming into the week, and they both took losses. They can take control of the AFC North if they can earn the win in front of the home faithful under the lights.
Lamar Jackson has continued to play incredible football, and history is up for grabs. If the Ravens run for 100 yards in this game, they will set an NFL record by doing it for the 44th game in a row. The Lamar effect.
All they do is run it down everybody’s throats. Let’s see how their secondary can handle the Colts.
Ravens Win
Baltimore will get it done at home and improve to 4-1. The game will be tight, but they will still cover.
