Coming into Week 15 of the NFL regular season brings about a few Saturday games with college football heading into bowl season.
The Indianapolis Colts will be on the road to take on the Minnesota Vikings in a game that doesn’t affect the standings too much in the overall big picture.
These two teams have some unique weaknesses and strengths that could turn the tides of the game in any direction.
Minnesota and their offense can score on any team in a hurry, but their defense has been battered and bruised in recent weeks and gives up yards to each of their opponents.
The Colts have been lackluster at best, but their offense does have the ability to create some openings against a weak defense on an indoor field.
Turnovers will likely be the deciding factor in this contest and whoever wins that battle will win the game. Either way, the spread favors the Vikings at home at -4.5 over the Colts.
Poised for an offensive outburst
The Colts have shown a couple of different times this season that they have the ability to put some points on the board.
Under Jeff Saturday as the head coach, they have looked the part of a better team, but that doesn’t mean they have what it takes all over.
Having such a lackluster offense, maybe this is the game Jonathan Taylor will actually see some life in his step or Michael Pittman on the outside.
Regardless, Matt Ryan is going to have to take care of the ball and ensure that his team puts together long drives to keep the explosiveness of Minnesota’s offense at bay.
Are the Vikings due for a free fall to end the season?
It seems like every single year there is a team that finds a way to a top record, only to drop the ball late in the season multiple weeks in a row.
We have now seen the Vikings weaknesses on full display, and this will be a game that all eyes will be focused on with no other games taking place at the same time.
Kirk Cousins is in a make it or break it situation, and his level of play needs to elevate to continue to accumulate wins for this team.
It really is the only solution for the Vikings, with their defense giving so much headway in these games. Points absolutely have to be scored in bunches.
Colts @ Vikings Betting Prediction
After a long season, two teams meeting on a Saturday for an NFL game just feels right. The Colts still have a lot to prove to the league, as do the Vikings.
With a win in this game, the Vikings would hold off the 49ers from jumping them for a higher seed in the NFC, but this one isn’t as free as it looks.
Take Minnesota at -4.5 at home though, and trust that Justin Jefferson shows up for another big game with double-digit catches.
