The San Diego Padres will host the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday Night Baseball for their third game of a three-game series. San Diego won Game 1 5-2, while Los Angeles bounced back in Game 2 and came away with a 2-1 victory. This is expected to be one of the best games of the year as Sunday Night Baseball between the Padres and the Dodgers typically doesn’t disappoint.
Julio Urias is going to be on the mound for the Dodgers, while Joe Musgrove is going to be on the mound for San Diego. Both of these guys have found a ton of success on the bump throughout their careers, leaving for an even better matchup this time around.
The game is currently a pick’em as both teams will be coming in at -110 on the moneyline.
Is San Diego Back Offensively?
When looking at what the San Diego Padres have done this season, it’s easy to see why people do believe that this team can be even better than they’re currently playing.
San Diego is just two games out of first place in the National League West, and that’s with their offense struggling for most of the season. Now with the added edition of Fernando Tatis, the Padres are starting to figure it out a bit on the offensive side of the baseball.
Juan Soto still hasn’t gotten going this year, which has been a major call for concern. He’s hitting just .220 on the season and only has five home runs. Against the Dodgers, he only has one hit in eight at-bats throughout the first two games of the series.
If the Padres are going to want to win this game, they’re going to need contributions out of most of their lineup. Julio Urias is arguably a top pitcher in all of baseball, so scoring runs against him will be a team effort.
The Dodgers Will Look to Win Another Series
The Los Angeles Dodgers are always one of the best teams in baseball, and that’s staying the same this season. Despite losing Trae Turner and a few other pieces last season, they still sit in first place in the National League West.
That’s been with some of their struggles throughout the year, but it’s obvious that Los Angeles is going to figure it out sooner rather than later. They’ve put together a nice period throughout their last ten games, winning seven of them.
They would love to get this game against the Padres, as this is one of the biggest rivalries in all of baseball. Similar to the Padres, they’re going to need contributions at most of their lineup. If guys like Mookie Betts, James Outman, Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy, and others can find ways to produce, they’re going to find themselves in a good position to win this ball game.
Los Angeles Dodgers at San Diego Padres Betting Preview Prediction
Because Julio Urias is on the mound, taking the Dodgers to win this game on the moneyline doesn’t seem like a bad idea.
The Dodgers are easily one of the best teams in baseball still, and they’ve been playing much better than San Diego throughout their last ten games. This is also a great time for them to win another series.
