Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Tampa Bay Rays Game 4 Betting Preview

The fourth game between Los Angeles and Tampa Bay is set to be played at Globe Life Park on Saturday night. On Friday, the Dodgers raced out to a 1-0 lead with a two-out Justin Turner home run in the top of the first. He would wind up with several extra-base hits to help lead his team to the win.

Getting off to that quick start was all the Dodgers needed to do for Walker Buehler. He hardly made any mistakes in his six innings of work, looking unhittable. Joe Buck doesn’t throw the word ‘Ace’ around lightly, and that is the only word he has used to describe Buehler. He is so very right.

Tampa Bay couldn’t get the same production from Charlie Morton. He often struggled to record outs, and it cost them several runs. Los Angeles has scored an MLB record 50 runs with two outs this postseason, proving that they are never down and out. It’s just tough luck for the Rays.

They’ll need a win to avoid a 3-1 hole.

ODDS:

The moneyline on the Dodgers is set at -177 and +150 for the Rays. The over/under is eight runs.

LA Seeks 3-1 Lead

So far, so good for the Dodgers. They fell behind 3-1 against the Braves but had no plans to let that happen again.

It isn’t about the comeback this time, but getting out in front and making your opponent truly feel your wrath. Once they overcame Atlanta, they kicked it into a new year.

Justin Turner hit his 11th playoff HR as a Dodger yesterday, tying the Dodgers franchise postseason record with Duke Snider. Mookie Betts became the fifth player with more than one game of 2+ hits and 2+ stolen bases in the World Series. And Max Muncy continues to grind out his at-bats, delivering timely hits for the team. What a group.

Julio Urias will get the nod for Game 4. In 16 innings of work this postseason, he has struck out 16 while walking just three. He has allowed two runs (one earned) over four prior appearances.

Rays Desperate to Win

A loss would put the Rays on the brink. A 3-1 comeback against the Dodgers while having to face the likes of Clayton Kershaw and Buehler again is a very scary possibility. One that they will hope to be able to avoid.

They’ve got some very talented pitchers of their own, but those arms have struggled to churn out big innings. That has been the case with all three of Morton, Blake Snell, and Tyler Glasnow. And they are putting all the extra strain on the bullpen.

That is going to need to be corrected. Plus, the offense needs to wake up again.

Ryan Yarbrough will make his fourth appearance (third start) of the 2020 postseason. He has six strikeouts and three walks in 10 2/3 innings of work. He has allowed four runs on 11 hits (3 HR’s).

Dodgers Win Again, Close to Title

The Dodgers will get it done, moving to within a single win of their first World Series title since 1988.
