Los Angeles Lakers at Golden State Warriors Betting Preview

The battle between California teams will happen in the Warriors’ home arena on Monday as the Lakers pay them a visit. One of these teams is pretty much playing .500 ball without their superstar, and the other is going through a bit of a rough patch.

The Lakers found out that Anthony Davis is going to be re-evaluated in two weeks, and they might get some much-needed good news then. Not that it affects the rotation much, but Jared Dudley is slated to miss perhaps the rest of the year with a torn MCL. He has been the energy on the bench for the past two years, and his presence is always an exciting one. They could really be losing something if he can’t travel.

Golden State has been ice cold in their last several games, as Steve Kerr has also switched up his bench rotation. He has continued to utilize an 11-man unit whenever possible rather than try and keep it narrow as most clubs do. Damian Lee and Brad Wanamaker, who had reps for the entire year, have been cut out of this. Nico Mannion and Jordan Poole have usurped them after strong showings in the G-League Bubble.

ODDS: The visiting Lakers are narrowly favored, the spread -2.5. The over/under is set at 222.5 points.

Lakers Looking for Win No. 26

It is extremely hard to judge a defending champion’s success in the following regular season. As long as the team is good enough to get back to the playoffs and be competitive against top teams, they’ll get a passing mark from most analysts. The Lakers have been able to tread water without AD, while LeBron has tried to stake a claim in a very competitive MVP race between the now-injured Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic.

Kyle Kuzma has started to come on strong, showing flashes of the player he was before LeBron came to town. He was part of the original ‘young’ core a few seasons back, and to see him playing well again is fantastic. He signed an extension before the year, and the team looks to be vindicated for that choice.

Let’s see if they try and bring a center in over the next 11 days before the deadline.

Dubs Seek Home Win

What a weird season it’s been for the Warriors. At 19-19, Stephen Curry, having played in 36 games, is not what you want to see. Klay isn’t here, and Draymond Green has also missed several games. But there is enough talent to have more victories. So at some point, you need to look at what they have and ask a few questions,

Kelly Oubre’s name has been floated in trades. James Wiseman, by the way, is still not getting more than 18-20 minutes on most nights. There aren’t any young stars besides Wiseman year to truly build around, leaving the future a little murky.

A win in this game could surely help GS’s fortunes.

Dubs Get the W

The Lakers will not get the road victory. Steph will score 35 in a bounce-back performance to lift the Warriors to a win.
