The Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers will play on Sunday in the final regular season game for both teams. These two NFC West rivals are both heading to the postseason. The Los Angeles Rams are 9-7 on the season, and currently the 6th seed. The Rams are locked into the postseason, but could fall to the 7 seed. Los Angeles will play either Dallas, Philadelphia or Detroit in the first round. The Rams beat the Giants in New York last week.
For the 49ers, they hold a 12-4 record, which is the best in the NFC. The 49ers are locked into the one seed, and will have a first round bye in the postseason. San Francisco locked up their first round bye with a road win at the Commanders last week.
The 49ers come into this game as favorites. San Francisco is listed at -3.5 over the Rams.
San Francisco 49ers
Many have continued to doubt Brock Purdy, as the starting quarterback for the 49ers. He had a couple poor games, including the Week 16 loss to the Ravens, but overall his numbers were elite. Purdy is up to 4,280 yards passing, with 31 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Four of those came in the Week 16 loss.
Christian McCaffrey has been one of the best players in all of the National Football League. Heh as nearly 1,500 yards rushing, and a total of 21 touchdowns via the run and pass game. McCaffrey is second on the team with 67 receptions.
San Francisco ranks second in passing with 263.1 yards per game. The 49ers offense is third in rushing with 141.5 per game. Overall, the 49ers are scoring just shy of 30 points per game. Defensively, they are allowing 17.3 per game.
Rams Looking to Even Season Series
The Rams lost the first meeting between these two teams 30-23. The 49ers forced two late turnovers to win the game. In the game, Matthew Stafford tossed for 307 yards, with 147 of them to Puka Nacua.
Nacua has been outstanding for the Rams alongside Cooper Kupp. Those two have been the top receiving combination in the league this season. Nacua needs 55 yards to reach 1,500 on the season.
Kyren Williams has been a massive shot in the arm for Sean McVay and the Rams. Williams has 228 carries, 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns on the season. The Rams offense ranks in the Top 10 in both passing and rushing yards, with a total of 365.6 per game.
Interesting NFC West Tilt
This should be an interesting game. But, who cares who wins, right? Do the 49ers need this win? No. Do the Rams really need this win? They cannot move to 5, so is there a big difference between 6 of 7 in the postseason push? Plus, they know they will play Dallas, Detroit or Philadelphia.
Not sure Coach McVay will have a preference or even know until late who they will play. A Lot of guys sit in this game. But, when a game is like this, we like to take the points. Bet the Rams +3.5 over the 49ers on Sunday.
