After blowing yet another game against the Celtics tonight, Memphis is all of a sudden now seven games under .500. Nothing is going right for them, and with the trade deadline looming, there could be wholesale changes.
Toronto, on the other hand, continues to get the job done, no matter who is in the lineup. They just beat the Suns on a Pascal Siakam game-winner on Thursday night, and so the legend continues. This team is battling Milwaukee tight for the #1 spot.

Grizzlies:
Yeah, there aren’t many good things we can say about this team. They still allow the fewest points in the league though! Yay? Nobody seems to be happy here of late, and JB Bickerstaff has got to be on the hot seat. His job with his injury-plagued team last season was not to win, and this year, now that he has a solid, healthy group, it’s clear that he may not be the guy. Mike Conley missed a large chunk of last season, a big part of the losses. Chandler Parsons has been healthy for a month, but the team has finally decided to can that experiment. Bringing in Justin Holiday has also helped absolutely nothing.
They score the fewest points in the NBA, which seems to have been the case for the case for the entire Grit & Grind era. Jaren Jackson Jr. is having a phenomenal season, and they are starting to see what they have in PG Jevon Carter. JaMychal Green is looking like a stud off the bench. No other good news here.
Raptors:
They are ranked inside of the top ten in points for and against, which surprised nobody. Nick Nurse is doing an amazing job here in his first season as head coach, and has them reaching new heights. Kawhi is leading them in scoring by a wide margin, but all of their role players are putting the ball in the hoop when needed. Even when Kawhi is out, when Van Vleet is out, even Lowry— it really doesn’t matter. Still without Valanciunas, Greg Monroe has continued to do a very good job off the bench. This is such a deep bunch, that nothing phases them, and they just keep pouring in W’s.
Could you have asked for a better start? They are 21 games over .500, and the move of DeRozan is looking like it truly was the right one. As good as the stars on this team are, not having CJ Miles in the rotation at all is very telling of just how good they are. They could make a move or two at the deadline to shore things up, but they have a big postseason coming.
Raptors keep it rolling
Yeah. Memphis won’t be winning this one. They are still feeling the sting of the Boston defeat, and this one will not go any better. Memphis will be blown out in Canada.
