With all the buyers and sellers from this week due to the trade deadline, the NFL is kicking into high gear, and teams are finally starting to morph into shape.
For the second straight week, the Miami Dolphins will be on the road against an NFC North team when they take on the Chicago Bears.
These two teams are in opposite situations, as the Dolphins were big-time buyers at the deadline, acquiring Jeff Wilson Jr. from the 49ers and Bradley Chubb from the Denver Broncos.
Both players will likely suit up for the contest but will see a very limited selection of snap count for this game.
The Bears were starting to make some noise on offense but now traded away another defensive player in Roquan Smith.
These teams were two of the most active in the deadline buzz, but the Dolphins are favored on the road in Chicago at -4.5.
An electric offense bolstering their defense
As is any team in the NFL at this point of the year, the Dolphins have experienced a good number of injuries this season, and their defense has been worse off because of it.
Adding Bradley Chubb into the mix makes an already solid defensive front even better, and the price they paid for it was absolutely worth it.
The offense has experienced no trouble scoring when Tua has been healthy and on the field. The production of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle is just silly at this point, and really no team in the league has a better pass catching duo.
Those two should have no problem running all over the Bears’ secondary, and it should be an open season against another NFC North team.
Bear down (for next season)
While the Bears did go out and get themselves an offensive weapon in Chase Claypool, it doesn’t seem like he will be able to move the needle for them and the receiving corps.
Justin Fields has started to carve a role out for himself in the league, and his accuracy is improving along with his ability to use his legs.
Trading away a few of their defensive starters makes the Bears worse overall, as they are looking more to the future as opposed to being focused on this season.
Hopefully, the right kind of culture can stay around Fields as they move forward.
Dolphins @ Bears Betting Prediction
This season has been a struggle in more ways than one for both of these teams and for a number of different reasons.
Week 8 is the time to see which direction you will be trending as teams gear up for the second half of their seasons.
The Dolphins are trending up and have the potential to win on any given week with the offense that they have assembled. With a bolstered defense unit, they will be even tougher to beat week-to-week.
Take the Dolphins as the favorite on the road over the Bears at -4.5.
