Game one ended with a shocking result as the Miami Heat took full advantage of stealing away home court from the Boston Celtics.
In the first half of the game, the Heat were sloppy and had a lot of unforced errors with their team. In reality, they just looked completely out of sync and it hurt them.
Miraculously, they were only down nine points at halftime and immediately came out roaring in the third quarter, scoring with absolute ease and pouring in three-pointers.
Boston won three out of four quarters, but the third quarter they lost cost them too much by the end of the game and they were unable to trek up the hill to comeback and win.
It is a story that is not unfamiliar to the Celtics, as they experienced a similar situation last season on the road in the Eastern Conference Finals against Miami.
Ahead of the game two action on Friday night, the Celtics are favored over the Heat at -9.
Jimmy Butler does it again for the Miami Heat
The run that Butler is on during this postseason cannot be overstated at how dominant he looks from game to game.
He finished the game with a measly 35-7-5 and 6 steals, which was a playoff career-high for him. He was all over the floor for Miami and continued to raise the stakes of his shotmaking as the game wore on.
For game two, the Heat will continue to involve Butler and Bam Adebayo in almost every action as they were able to find all of their shooters on the outside.
The Heat shot over 50% from three, which made an impact fast on the game and the flow and they will look to continue their hot shooting on Friday night.
Cleaning up the sloppy play to close the game
For most of the postseason, Boston has experienced difficulties closing against their opponents, and the Heat were really no different.
After getting blitzed in the third quarter, the Celtics were sloppy in taking care of the ball in the fourth with a bunch of turnovers and they struggled to get any good-looking shots.
Both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown had a tough showing, and now, just like against Philadelphia, the Celtics are in a must win situation for game two.
They have been here before and can absolutely do it again, but they certainly haven’t made anything easy on themselves.
Heat @ Celtics Betting Prediction
These two opponents know each other extremely well, and Erik Spoelstra coached a heck of a game for Miami and showcased why he is one of the superior minds in the NBA.
Ahead of game two on Friday night, the Heat are carrying all of the momentum for the series and look like they will keep their hot shooting up.
Coaching against desperation is a different kind of beast, and the Celtics are going to have that in them and more. Take Boston at -9 in this game to even up the series before heading to Miami.
