With a miserable start to this series, the Boston Celtics faced elimination on Tuesday night when they took on the Miami Heat in game four of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Miami came roaring out of the gate yet again, and now the Celtics had to respond quickly. Their response came in the third quarter, where they were able to counter with a 17-0 run against the Heat and hold on to the lead for the rest of the game.
A team like the Heat is not going to be phased by the loss, but Boston did seem to get a little bit of a momentum heading back to their home court and rallying behind the idea and concept of being a team and one unit.
Before game four, Boston had found themselves as the favorite in every game this series. After their win on Tuesday, they draw the favorite on their home court over the Heat at -7.5.
Role players continuing to thrive
In their first three victories of the series, the Miami Heat role players had been astonishingly good. Players like Caleb Martin, Gabe Vincent, and Duncan Robinson had carved roles for themselves where they looked like superstars on the court.
Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo continue to shine as well, and Butler shared his thoughts on the loss they took and how he had no worries moving forward in the series.
If we know one thing about the Miami Heat, it is that they will never roll over or back down from a fight. A loss like Tuesday night is something they can take to energize themselves moving forward.
This would be the type of game for Butler to come out and rip out the Celtics’ hearts.
Momentum carrying the rest of the way
For the Celtics, the rest of the series is fairly simple: lose, and the season is over and finished with.
In game three, they pretty much gave up on the court, and everyone recognized it. They had a chance in game four to do the same, but this time they rallied and saved their season.
They certainly have made it hard on themselves this season, and will look to try to be the first team in league history to comeback from being down 3-0 in a series.
On their home court, they have faltered this postseason, so it seems like a game where they would be due.
Heat @ Celtics Betting Preview
In all honesty, the Heat are still going to be the team that wins this series, but a rowdy home crowd ahead of game five is going to be tough to get past.
All of the pressure seems to be on the Heat for this game, and the Celtics really can ride this adrenaline rush with the help of their crazy crowd.
Take Boston to win this game five on their home court at -7.5, but be prepared for the Miami Heat to respond accordingly when it comes to game six.
