After a full season of the NBA, the end is in sight as the NBA Finals tip-off on Thursday when the Miami Heat take the flight to go against the Denver Nuggets.
Without a doubt, Jimmy Butler and Nikola Jokic have been the best two players of the postseason and absolutely dominated every facet of the game.
The Heat survived a scare as the Boston Celtics clawed their way back to a game seven matchup that the Heat were able to win on the road.
Now they get their toughest test yet going against the dynamic duo of Jokic and Jamal Murray, who have been able to keep their opponents guessing while boasting the best offense in the league.
Jokic is looking to make a historic run, as his playoff numbers have been out of this world, and they are 12-3 in their Western Conference run with only four games to go to achieve glory.
Ahead of the action on Thursday night, the Nuggets draw the home favorite over the Heat at -8.5.
Can the Butler’s teammates keep their level of play this high?
After an opening two rounds dominated by Butler’s performances, Caleb Martin, Gabe Vincent, Duncan Robinson, and more all stepped up to the plate.
Each of these teammates were able to deliver against Boston in ways we have not seen from them all season long.
The Nuggets are a completely different story, as they will have to deal with timezone changes and the altitude of Denver in all of these road matchups.
Finding a way to stop Jokic looks impossible at this point, but the Heat have been stopping some of the best stars in the league in going against Giannis and Tatum in the Eastern Conference.
The Joker finishing off an all-time run
In sweeping the Los Angeles Lakers, Nikola Jokic is setting himself up to have one of the best individual playoff runs in the history of the NBA.
The rest of his team is in awe, and you can see each game how much they admire the way he plays and how selfless he is at trying to get them involved in the offense.
It has certainly been one of the more entertaining teams to watch in the postseason, and their offense is going to make Miami think about cutting and backdoors much more than Boston ever did.
Heat @ Nuggets Betting Preview
In terms of the seeding and how both of these teams managed to get here, this feels like a David versus Goliath matchup.
The Heat barely even made it into the postseason, and now find themselves competing for the NBA Finals, while the Nuggets have been one of the more dominant teams all season long.
Two completely different personalities will clash when Jokic and Butler take the floor, but the intensity will be raised to the max.
Take Denver in the opening matchup on their home court as they have been undefeated all postseason and have the advantage of rest at -8.5.
