Both No. 11 Michigan and No. 13 Wisconsin have gotten off to the starts they had hoped, and now both hope to avoid the first loss of the season that inevitably awaits one of them. With all the rumors about Jim Harbaugh constantly going through the gossip mill, he is always in the headlines. But he has been focused with his group this season, and they have been playing classic Wolverines football. Still looking for a big season, Harbaugh is hoping that 2019 can be the year that the magic finally happens.
The Badgers, on the other hand, have built a culture as a regular winner over the past several years and hope to qualify for the College Football Playoff this season. Paul Chryst has been doing a good job with his team, which does a tremendous job of ball control and limiting turnovers. They have produced some stellar running backs through the years, with Jonathan Taylor just the latest in a long line of dynamo runners.
The spread for this matchup favors Michigan by 3.5 points, despite them serving as the road team. The over/under is set at 43.
Michigan Trying For 3-0
One thing the Wolverines will have to do better is limit opponent scoring out there. They have outscored opponents 64-42 through two games, so they have not had that signature blowout yet. It won’t happen this week, but the defense needs to lock in and focus.
On the other side of the ball, Shea Patterson has gotten off to a decent start, throwing for 410 yards and three touchdowns without turning the ball over. He has a passer rating of 138.5 to this point in the year, while starting RB Zach Charbonnet has already scored three times.
Jordan Glasgow has a few sacks on the young season, and the team will need him to continue to apply constant pressure on the Badgers with his ability. They have forced five turnovers already, and we’ll look for it to continue.
Badgers Looking For “Upset” At Home
Led by QB Jack Coan, the Badgers have looked good over the first few weeks of the season. They have not allowed a single point yet on defense while getting 110 total points on offense. No team has looked quite this dominant yet, with two consecutive shutouts to open the year.
Coan has thrown for 562 yards and five touchdowns without an interception and is looking to keep the ball rolling. Taylor has already amassed 237 yards on the ground and five touchdowns, proving to be a dominant force and continuing Wisconsin’s storied history of legacy running backs.
They have already recorded six sacks through two weeks, proving to have one of the best D-Lines in all of college football on the young season. They hope to keep that going, as they try and pressure Patterson early and often.
Wolverines Shock The Badgers
Wisconsin has not allowed a point yet this year, but that changes in this matchup. Michigan -3.5 is the way to go as they win a one-score game.
