The Milwaukee Bucks continue their trip in the Lone Star State by visiting the Houston Rockets at 7:00 p.m. ET Sunday at the Toyota Center in Houston. The Bucks (19-6) have the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. The Rockets (7-18) have the worst record in the Western Conference.
The Bucks are favored by 10 points with an over/under of 227.5. The Bucks are -445 on the moneyline, while the Rockets are +385.
Bucks look to keep the streak
Milwaukee has won four straight and seven of its last eight. The Bucks have a tremendous defense. They allow 107.9 points per game, the second-best mark defensively in the league, and force teams to convert 44.7% of field goals, the best mark in the league. Their size and length bother teams.
Offensively, they score 112.8 points per game, which ranks 16th, but only shoot 46.0% from the field, ranking 23rd, and 35.3% from the 3-point line (17th). Their free throw percentage is 73.4%, which is the fifth worst.
They are also second in rebounding at 48.4 per contest and limit teams to 43.4, which is 14th.
One thing to watch is the injury report as the game gets closer to tip-off time. The Bucks have held out their stars in some games this season.
Giannis Antetokounmpo will again have his name in the MVP conversation.
He is averaging 31.9 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game this season. He’s one of six players averaging double figures. Bobby Portis is at 13.4 points and 10.1 rebounds off the bench.
Rockets on a roll?
For a team that is struggling and has been in a perpetual rebuild, the Rockets have beaten the Phoenix Suns, who were the best team in the West, and Philadelphia 76ers in their last four games. They’ll try to keep that magic against the Bucks.
Houston’s offense is the worst in the league at converting 44.4% of shots. The Rockets score 110.8 points per game, which is 23rd. They do grab the fourth most rebounds at 45.8 per contest and limit teams to 41.4, also fourth.
Defensively, they hold teams to 117.2 points per game and a 48.6% on field goal attempts, each third worst. Teams also make 37.4% of 3-pointers against Houston, which is 25th defensively.
Jalen Green leads the team at 21.3 points per game, and youngster Kevin Porter Jr. is behind him at 18.8 points, 5.8 assists, and 5.6 rebounds per game. Rookie Jabari Smith Jr. averages 12.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.
Bucks/Rockets Betting Prediction
Even if it is a shell of the Bucks lineup, they should have no problem against the Rockets. Milwaukee has won the last four in the series, but Houston is 4-2 against the spread in the last six. The over has hit in the last five meetings.
We’ll take the Bucks to win and cover -10.
