The Bucks will be heading to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves in a game that will be interesting. Giannis is likely to sit yet again, marking the sixth game in a row he’d have had to sit. The last time he took the floor, he poured in 47 points against Portland, so hopefully, he is fine, and the team is just being a little extra cautious.
Barring some type of crazy losing skid, Milwaukee will be locked into a top-three spot in the East, which is truly a great thing. It will mean a pretty smooth trip to round two, likely not having to exert themselves too much. Whoever finishes just ahead of the play-in spots will find themselves in a position to push forward. Philly and Brooklyn are still within Milwaukee’s grasp.
Minnesota, meanwhile, has no expectations for the season. Guys continue to slide in and out of the lineup, which made no moves at the trade deadline. The veterans all stayed put, meaning that they were content with what they had and were not looking to make major changes at midseason. KAT and DLo continue to watch as their team takes losses, regardless of if they are in the game. The Wolves have the worst record in the league, and it really is not a surprise.
Odds: The spread for the game is currently favoring Milwaukee by nine points. So, MIL -9. The MIL moneyline is -405, while it’s +320 for the Wolves.
Bucks Look to Make Quick Work of Opponent
Not many folks will bet against the Bucks. Not even Wolves fans should be confident in their team to pull out a win in this game. Milwaukee knows not to overlook teams like this, losing a ton but hoping that on a given night that they can rise above the circumstances and just play good ball. Not in this specific case, though.
Milwaukee is capable of wins even when 4/5 of their starting lineup sits, as we have seen on a few occasions. Giannis likely remains out of action for this one, but his brother Thanasis continues to provide quality minutes to the second unit. Jeff Teague is continuing to produce for the second unit.
The Donte DiVincenzo trade not going through in the fall has paid massive dividends. He’s been great in year three.
Wolves Seeking Home Win
Minnesota has done so much losing in their history. This season, the Wolves have posted a 14-40 record, not really having many memories of winning. D’Angelo Russell has been coming off the bench since his return, putting in some decent numbers. But with Malik Beasley likely done for the season with an injury, KAT is the only other reliable player they have.
#1 pick Anthony Edwards has delivered some big moments, but he’s still learning. And his defense has been something of a problem for the club.
Bucks Win Huge
The game is not going to be close at all, as Milwaukee wins huge.
