The Bucks very nearly met the 76ers in the Eastern Conference Finals, but the Hawks made sure it would not happen. And in the second week of November, both teams down some heavy star power, they will be getting together for the first time on the season, in a game that is sure to provide an electric atmosphere in Philly.
The Bucks have been playing without Brook Lopez since the season opener and have been without both Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton for several games already. The team is certainly not what it was last year, but the 4-6 start is very shocking.
They have plenty of time and will turn it around well before the playoffs, but after watching them win the title, the thought would be that more wind would follow suit. Next man up and all.
Philly is going to have a hard time here, as Joel Embiid entered the health and safety protocols yesterday. Tobias Harris is still in them, and of course, Ben Simmons is nowhere near ready to report to the team. Isaiah Joe and Matisse Thybulle are in health and safety protocols as well, and it is just like last year when they had to play with the bare minimum number of guys.
At 8-3, though, the 76ers perhaps have a small amount of room for error.
Betting Odds & Lines
The spread for Monday night is set at MIL -6.5. The over/under is sitting at 220.5 points. The MIL moneyline is -275, while the latter is PHI +215.
Bucks Seeking Return Near .500
With Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez expected to remain out, Milwaukee may have their hands full with Andre Drummond. He grabbed 25 rebounds against the Knicks and has been showing signs of reverting to his Pistons self while in Philly this year, playing with his old nemesis.
As for the Bucks themselves, it’s all about Giannis Antetokounmpo. He has again been playing at an MVP level, but it is not winning games for them. They are missing the effort guys like PJ Tucker brought for them last year, and Bobby Portis is only just getting back, too.
To win this one, they will need to make sure to capitalize on matchups and sink all their threes.
Philly Looking for Statement Win
Even with half your team hurt and not playing, a statement win can still happen. If Philly can find a way to upset the Bucks here at home, it would be great not only for confidence but to show that the team they have assembled can truly handle anything thrown at them.
Trying to guess the lineup at this point is an exercise in futility, but they still have talent here. Furkan Korkmaz and Seth Curry can shoot the lights out. Drummond can clean up the glass. And they can still play solid defense, having been doing so all year.
They must contain Giannis and not let Grayson Allen bury them from deep.
Bucks Win on the Road
Another tough one for Philly, as they lose their second in as many nights. Milwaukee is back on top.
