After coming away with a dominant victory over Atlanta in Week 1, Minnesota should be feeling good. They brought the pass rush in a big way and forced Matt Ryan to throw multiple interceptions. An area where they still have to be better in, though, will be throwing the ball. Kirk Cousins hardly had to do that as they were content with a run-heavy offense, only firing off 10 passes for the entire game. That recipe will not beat Green Bay.
How about the defense of the Packers last week? They really limited the Bears, holding them to just three points on the road in the season opener. It is unclear if they will be able to keep this up all season, but after spending big bucks to revamp their D, it is a fantastic sign to see that kind of play out of them. Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur come into their second game together now and hope that it can end with the same result as the first.
The spread for this game favors the Packers by 2.5 points (GB -2.5), and the over/under is set at 43.
Vikings Looking For 2-0
After a strong two-way performance against Atlanta, Minnesota is hoping to deliver the goods in a divisional matchup with the Packers. They missed the playoffs a year ago, following their run to the NFC Championship Game with Case Keenum in 2017. It’s pretty clear that the run game will be a big part of the gameplan this season, but they cannot be running it as much as they did against Atlanta each and every week. Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison are both going to be prominent pieces of the offense, but it is all about Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs getting open in the secondary.
Their pass rush is something to behold, and it will be putting pressure on Rodgers from the get-go. Look for Anthony Barr to be playing all over the field, making GB uncomfortable.
Pack Try To Move Atop The North
After a couple of not-so-impressive seasons, Green Bay is looking to get back atop the division. Chicago won it last year and came in as favorites, but the Packers did not allow them any breathing room, holding them to three points last week. We saw flashes of prime Rodgers, who made some beautiful throws as always as he always seems to make the smart play. He only had two interceptions last season, a wildly impressive figure. Their running game still has a ways to go in order to be effective, but here’s another opportunity.
Their defense is a bit enhanced after they spent the big bucks on Adrian Amos (game-sealing INT in his debut), Za’Darius Smith, and Preston Smith. All three of them figure to continue to be key pieces.
Packers Get Another Win
Make sure that you wager on the guys from Green Bay. Rodgers will go for 300 yards, outplaying Cousins en route to a 2-0 start!
