Can the Dallas Stars take a commanding 3-2 lead against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night? It won’t be easy, but the sportsbooks believe Dallas has the upper hand as they’re slight favorites to get the job done.
Dallas comes into this one after a huge 3-2 win in Game 4, after they lost 5-1 in Minnesota.
Both teams have now each won a game on the road, and that makes for an exciting series. Most say that whenever a team wins on the road, that’s when the series starts. Dallas was the better team in the regular season, finishing with five more points than the Wild.
However, that doesn’t mean much, given what’s been seen during the first four games of this series. This series is a tight one, and both teams must be at their best if they want to win the series.
Dallas is +185 on the puck line, while Minnesota is -215. The over/under is 5.5, which has hit in two of the first four games.
Dallas Can’t Allow Minnesota to Win on The Road Again
The Dallas Stars had one of the more interesting seasons in the NHL this year. The team showed that they had the pesky veterans and young stars a championship contender needs. That didn’t always mean much, however, as Dallas had multiple games throughout the year that they couldn’t take care of business in.
While this is the playoffs, and they should be focused more than the regular season, Dallas blowing a lead late in the game doesn’t seem out of the equation. They lost in double overtime in Game 1, and losing one on their home ice is already one too many.
Jason Robertson, Jamie Benn, Wyatt Johnston, and Tyer Seguin will need to play their best hockey for Dallas to get the win. Star Joe Pavelski is out due to a head injury, which could hurt this team a ton, given what he means to them.
The Wild Continue to Play Well
The Minnesota Wild had an impressive regular season that saw them finish with 103 points. They stayed afloat through some tough times in the regular season and now have a chance to win a huge Game 5 to boost their chances of advancing.
While this one won’t be easy, Minnesota has shown toughness throughout the year that could help them in this contest. Ryan Hartman had an incredible Game 3 for the Wild, scoring a game and adding two assists. If they can get production out of guys that aren’t their stars, Minnesota will be in a prime position to win this game.
Minnesota Wild at Dallas Stars Betting Prediction
This series has felt like one that’s going to go seven games. Because of that, backing the home team here seems to be the logical thing to do. The Stars should be able to protect their home ice and then go from there. While this game has a chance to be a sweat for bettors and fans, Dallas must find a way to win, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them do just that.
