One word to describe the run Atlanta has been on would be WOW! They just continue to demolish each and every opponent, as they have moved to 21 games over .500 and are just about unbeatable. The victories have continued to pile up, and nobody has been able to even leave a scratch on this incredibly deep team. It’s been marvelous to watch the job Brian Snitker has done, and now we see if it can continue for another series.
Milwaukee, on the other hand, is 9-19 in its last 28 games, all of which were played against teams with losing records. Now that they are finally going to be facing a winning crowd, they could finally get it done thanks to some reverse psychology. Christian Yelich is looking like a candidate to repeat as NL MVP, but where are his teammates? Their division is still wide open despite this horrid month, so they, in fact, have time to turn it around.
The moneyline for Tuesday night’s contest has the Atlanta Braves +142 and the Milwaukee Brewers -164. The over/under has been set at 9.5.
Freeman Continues To Amaze
The amazing Braves offense starts with Freddie Freeman, who has gotten better as he’s aged in MLB. At 29 years of age, he has 25 home runs, 74 RBI, and a .302 batting average. Ronald Acuna Jr. has crushed 23 long balls, Josh Donaldson has been improving his game as the year has gone in with 21 now, and they have three other players with 14 to 17 long balls. They have the depth to challenge any team in a game, and a series, proving that they could be some serious competition for the Dodgers in the big picture.
Bryse Wilson will take the hill for his fourth start of the season. The 21-year-old hasn’t gone deep in his outings, with an average of 4 2/3 innings per outing. He’s still learning the ways of the majors, and tonight he seeks his second win.
Needing Some Support
Talking about Christian Yelich, the rightfielder has launched 32 HRs, second only to LA’s Cody Bellinger (33), and has brought in 68 runs with a .332 batting average. Mike Moustakas has picked up some of the slack with 25 HRs and 68 RBI. For both of them, it is apparent in the low-RBI totals. They are always launching solo shots because Milwaukee isn’t getting enough players on base. They struggle to field a competitive lineup day-to-day, and they are in desperate need of some victories right now.
They will be sending their ace, Brandon Woodruff, to the mound tonight. He has gone 10-3 with a 3.67 ERA in 18 starts. He has 126 strikeouts to 25 walks, not allowing a single unearned run. He is in search of win No. 11, and he has been tremendous.
Brewers End Their Drought
For tonight at least, things will be good for MIL. They will come away victorious thanks to a strong outing from Brandon Woodruff and a deep-bomb hit by Christian Yelich.
